LONG TIME FALCON FAN-your last post is a good example of a fan singling out a specific player(s) to blame for the ills of the secondary. Why does signing 2 veteran CB's have to be directed at CHouston? What about the play of CB BGrimes, CJackson and COwens? It seems to me their signing shows a lack of confidence of the entire CB core overall, and not just Houston. To me, it's a sign that our coaching staff is now uncomfortable with the play of our younger CB's and have decided against going with the youth movement they were banking on.

It's obvious to anyone with a clue that the poor play of our other CB's isn't due to any type of injuries, especially hamstring injuries. Yet, everyone seems to be directing the disappointment at Houston alone. You call it spinning, I call it recognizing the obvious. We are now down to the 53 player limit, our practice squad has been assembled and DE/DT JAnderson has yet to be traded or released? It's quite obvious that both TD and Smitty share my assessment of JAnderson and aren't willing to give up on him at this time. IS THAT WHAT YOU CALL SPINNING, OR WOULD YOU CALL IT REALITY?

ltf and CBrass, I just got around to reading your response to my post concerning Trey Lewis and the 2007 Draft.

I agree he showed potential before he was hurt his first year. I can remember being excited about him, however, I believe that was during the preseason. If Im not mistaken he was injured very early in the year and never contributed during the regular season. That being said, I do like his hustle and am hopeful for some contribution this year.

Who got cut to make room for Brian Williams? Excellent addition TD, You Rock, adding size and experience to our CB group. It shouldn't take too long for him to get up to speed having worked under Coach Smith at Jacksonville. I wouldn't be surprised to see both him and Tye Hill starting by game 4 right after our bye week. Great that BW has the versatility to potentially play Safety as well. Is TD done tweaking the roster? If a dynamic OLB becomes available will he pull the trigger? Do we have the cap space to make another move? GO FALCONS!

Dean21

September 5th, 2009
9:23 pm
Slim Pickens so far on the CB position….

CB DeMarcus Faggins, - Titans
CB Corey Ivy - Browns
CB Rod Hood - Bears
DB Anthony Madison - Steelers
DB Brian Williams - Jaguars
CB Deltha O’Neal - Texans
CB Joey Thomas - Dolphins

I should have known Coach Smitty would have picked up his former player in Jacksonville...well, it's good that he already knows the system!

Long Time Falcon,
Would you say that TD makes a move on a corner by Monday? Surely it will be from the waiver wire..because he could have acted on the free agents a while ago and didn’t

Well....I guess TD made the move before Monday....wow

"Yet, you want the Falcons to hold on to a 3rd string QB named DJ Shockey, who’s been in the NFL longer and hasn’t shown any progress, just because he went to the UGA".

Actually almost everyone on here, UGA fans included, thought shockley didn't earn his way on to the team.

And as far as Houston go's hasn't TD picked up two corners in the last week? Ken, now do you think that is a vote of confidence for Houston? It's not just us fans who don't like what weve seen from Houston. Obviously TD and Smitty aren't happy either or they wouldn't have traded for and picked up a free agent corner. Actions speak louder than words and our front office has made the moves.

Ken, you are truly the master of spin and excuses for players that have not produced or lived up to their lofty draft status.
