FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons running back Michael Turner, who played at Northern Illinois, was giddy about the Huskies receiving a bid to play in the Orange Bowl.
After the Huskies are done with Florida State, Turner told wide receiver Julio Jones that the Huskies want a shot at Alabama for the National Title.
Linebacker Pat Schiller, another former NIU player, gave Turner an Orange. He threw it in the direction of safety Chris Hope’s locker. Hope played at Florida State.
He calls center Todd McClure “Mr. Chick-fil-a” because LSU, McClure’s alma mater, in the local bowl.
