Atlanta Falcons: Big Boi defends team, warns players to avoid strip clubs

Big Boi figured it was his duty to go to ESPN’s studios and defend the Falcons.

So the Atlanta hip-hop legend, whose real name is Antwan Patton, showed up on ESPN’s “First Take” program this week and declared: “The Super Bowl has got to come through Atlanta.”

“I’m here as an ambassador,” Big Boi said. “We are ready.”

When host Skip Bayless cited the Falcons’ recent playoff failures and asked Big Boi why he thought it would be different this time, he cited the “spirit of the city.”

“It’s about the city and the energy the city has got right now,” he said. “Atlanta is turned up.”

Big Boi, however, said Falcons’ players should shun certain entertainment options before the game.

“As long as everybody stays out of Magic City and Diamonds of Atlanta, we are going to be good,” he said, referring to two of the city’s famous strip clubs. “Wait until Monday to go. Everybody stay home.”

Big Boi suggested that Magic City should have “Seahawks night” on Saturday to entice the players from the visiting team to drop in.

Falcons will totally dominate the Seahawks and quiet some haters. We always beat the Seahawks! Go Falcons.

Technically, we have three men on our sidelines that are head coaches (Smitty, Koeter, Nolan).

Really??!?!?!?!

There are far more important reasons to stay OUT of Strip clubs….. and as far as our KEY players, they don’t seem the caliber of scum that would frequent Boi’s chosen clubs he pimps. Self appointed ambassador is a Boi….who still pays to see T and A. That is laughable. All this is, is promoting it. Please dont go to the “brer” patch!

People are mad because tickets are still available for the game. Why? Atlanta fans are just fed up and tired of spending money on teams that choke. Were supposed to get hyped up with the Braves they choke, we get hyped up for the Falcons and they choke. Hawks, whatever. Let’s face it we live in a city where our teams consistently underperformed in the post season. Not a hater just a realist. I would love for the Falcons to win it all, but you’ll have to forgive me if I just don’t get excited right now. Get past Seattle and we will talk.

Big Boi might be suggesting a little Lawrence Taylor type chicanery to get a competitive edge for the Falcons. I think it was 1986 when the All-Pro New York Giants LB sent some “skilled labor” up to the hotel rooms of some San Francisco 49ers players. The next day, the Giants stomped the Niners 49-3.
“Nuff said!

Real fans support the team, win or lose. If the Falcons were 4-12, you’d still be complaining. I don’t understand it. You have a good football team with a chance to win consistently. Enjoy the ride.

First, I can’t believe this is the best the media can come up with! Really, a rapper warning the players to stay outa a strip club the night before what is arguably the most important game in recent Atlanta Falcon history. I’m sure THESE Atlanta Falcon players are focused enough to avoid that pitfall. As for Big Boi…don’t know him or his music, but I admire anyone who has the gumption to find a way to succeed…legally! Yeah, I’m an almost 60, sometimes grumpy white dude, but I am still willing to see what Boi has to say in his music. So many have defended him on this blog, I’m intrigued. Don’t like most rap, but if the message is good, it doesn’t matter how it’s delivered. Capice’ ?
As for Skip “Sayless” Bayless…do I really need to go there? The few times I’ve watched the show, it wasn’t long before I’m reaching for the remote. Talk about bloviating!
Finally, to the Falcons…everything I read gives us as much chance as a snowball at the gates of Hades. I have, and still believe, that this Falcons team is different than any other Falcons team I’ve ever watched. Just a gut feeling. I believe Sunday night will open a new chapter for the franchise. Guess we’ll have to wait and see…but that’s why the play the game…right?
Go Falcons!

Falcons, RISE UP ??

Isn’t that the very reason why the Falcons players go to the strip clubs in the first place?

Let’s just play and act like we have been here before. The night life has not been friendly to our teams. If you have to ask, you don’t need to know, Big Boi do your thang.

Strip club is not a place to show one’s prowes. Show your strength in the field where a crowd can see and admire your talent. Some of these places bound to enrage you and make you adopt gun culture. Hope you get me right and straight. Be strong and score more goals. If you exceed your limit, you will be stripped off from playing. Who knows you may be barred fro playing, who knows how long? Heed to sound advice coming from your close quarters.

Falcons just may pull it all off this year….always have said it was hard for a team to get to the Superbowl, well they are about 87 percent there and with just three games left to play to win it for the Falcons………………..let em roll through the Seabuzzards…………Atlanta – 34……Seabuzzards – 13 and then get a payback with the Packers, a revenge win for two years ago and then have a rematch with the Denver Broncos and just maybe, this time playing Manning instead of playing Elway like the 98 team did, the Falcons can finally break the jinx and get a SuperBowl Win.

It’s onwards and upwards………………one game at a time. …………..Rise up Falcons and Rise up Atlanta !
