Big Boi figured it was his duty to go to ESPN’s studios and defend the Falcons.
So the Atlanta hip-hop legend, whose real name is Antwan Patton, showed up on ESPN’s “First Take” program this week and declared: “The Super Bowl has got to come through Atlanta.”
“I’m here as an ambassador,” Big Boi said. “We are ready.”
When host Skip Bayless cited the Falcons’ recent playoff failures and asked Big Boi why he thought it would be different this time, he cited the “spirit of the city.”
“It’s about the city and the energy the city has got right now,” he said. “Atlanta is turned up.”
Big Boi, however, said Falcons’ players should shun certain entertainment options before the game.
“As long as everybody stays out of Magic City and Diamonds of Atlanta, we are going to be good,” he said, referring to two of the city’s famous strip clubs. “Wait until Monday to go. Everybody stay home.”
Big Boi suggested that Magic City should have “Seahawks night” on Saturday to entice the players from the visiting team to drop in.

“A Big Boi” is 1/2 of one of the greatest musicians and most successful hip-hop acts of all time – Outkast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outkast). #95 greatest artists on VH1 (http://stereogum.com/495331/vh1-100-greatest-artists-of-all-time/list/attachment/outkast/). Whether or not you respect the genre, you should at least respect their accolades, particularly if they’re from Atlanta.

Big Boi is a typical illiterate Atlanta native. He managed to make Skip Bayless (angry midget) and Stephen A (mad monkey) look intelligent.
I am hoping for a Atlanta victory. However I will not be surprised at all if Ryan starts off crappy and gets us in a hole. A few dropped passes by Roddy and Julio won’t help. They are gonna have to play lights out from the get go on this one.
Good Luck Falcons – From the Atlanta Fan contingent that can spell and speak english!

Falcons should win this game. I’m so hoping that offense doesn’t go into that infuriating “idling mode” after jumping out to a 10 or 14 point early lead. Would love to ATL keep the pedal down like the Tide did to ND on Monday night.

Charles Drew’s system for the storing of blood plasma (blood bank) revolutionized the medical profession. Dr. Drew also established the American Red Cross blood bank, of which he was the first director, and he organized the world’s first blood bank drive, nicknamed “Blood for Britain”. His official title for the blood drive was Medical Director of the first Plasma Division for Blood Transfusion, supplying blood plasma to the British during World War II. African American….

On July 7, 1911 Nathaniel Alexander of Lynchburg, Virginia patented a folding chair. According to his patent, Nathaniel Alexander designed his chair to be used in schools, churches, and other auditoriums. His design included a book rest that was usable for the person sitting in the seat behind and was ideal for church or choir use. Below you can view the patent drawing of Nathaniel Alexander’s folding chair.

In January 2006, Ms. Bashen became the first African American female to hold a patent for a software invention. The patented software, LinkLine, is a web-based application for EEO claims intake and tracking, claims management, document management and numerous reports. Bashen will soon release the federal sector counterpart, EEOFedSoft, MD715Link and the web-based AAPSoft for building Affirmative Action Plans.
Janet Emerson Bashen was issued U.S. patent #6,985,922 on January 10 2006, for a “Method, Apparatus and System for Processing Compliance Actions over a Wide Area Network.”

@chefboyardee those are terrible examples..please stop speaking for us..the marriage one was close cuz if your bad at marriage you may get divorced multipal times.. a better example would be if you have a very good winning percentage playing chess people would say your are a good maybe even a great chess player.but if you are 0-3 playing speed chess thier maybe questions to your ability to win in faster paced higher stress conditions. Our boys with Matty Ice are 0-3 in playoffs thats why they question 0ur ability to win in post season and until we do win it will continue.I know we got the abilty we just got to do it on the field in Jan. Matt does make me nervous cuz in his interview sounded like he had a frog in his throat..Its not gonna be easy cuz if you seen Seattle play youve seen the Wittens, Welkers and even Calvin Johnsons of the world get alligator arms vs this secondary..but i know white and jones dont scare easy..just know if we dont win the questions about our team in post season may have validity
Shut your squeal hole

[...] One of the Falcons’ biggest fans joined ESPN”s First Take to defend his squad against Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. ATL’s own Big Boi (Outkast) took to the airwaves to debunk myths about the Falcons’ playoff woes and welcome the Seahawks to his city by encouraging them to patronize a couple of Atlanta’s finest night spots before playing the Falcons on Sunday: Magic City and Diamonds of Atlanta. You can hear Sir Luscious Left Foot speak on that and more in this video clip courtesy of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: [...]

I’m happy anyone will go on TV and support the Coons. We’re not getting any love.
We know that ATL or Hotlanta, whatever….has more “celebrities” than just
“rappers” but the espn types seem to grab hold of the first rapper they can find to do commentary
on our sports teams. But hey, its all good. We’re all pulling for our team to pull this off. That’s the main thing! As fans we just need to rock the dome and pull for our Coons to pull this off. I like our chances and this team, these coaches, these players have earned our support…ain’t no S.A. Smith types going to divide us on this. We’re together and behind our Falcons!

I will be rooting for my Falcons this Sunday against the Seahawks. I faithfully believe that we have what it takes this year to pull off not only one, not only two, but three playoff wins and take home to Atlanta the Superbowl. I want to wish the Falcons a great game sunday and everyone please be safe and use common sense in your activities in the coming days leading to the game on Sunday.
Big Boi is a great musical artist. I will say if he wasn’t great at what he does then he wouldn’t be rich with money and fame. It takes talent and skill these days to have money and fame. Apparently, he is doing something right in his life. He has way more money than most of us posting in these board can ever imagine to have.
Furthermore, I do not for the life of me understand why hardly anyone is giving us a shot. We are the #1 seed, have a first week bye, and home field advantage. We didn’t earn that by doing nothing. We EARNED it. Seattle had to win a wild card game in order to even have the opportunity to play us. So therefore, I think we have the upper hand. We are going to prove all the analyst wrong this season. This is a different year and the team is more experienced. Matt Ryan is more seasoned than ever before. He is more focused. Come on man, really … Falcons have the best chance ever.

I have had it with the hate our fair city endures. I have had it with the mainstream media. I have had it with ALL national sports broadcasters. Its time that we respond loudly and hatefully towards them and the cities and organizations they support-the internet would be a good place to start. We need to rise up together, and respond in kind to the self-righteous, unrelenting annihilation we have endured for so long. I’m obviously not suggesting violence, but it wouldn’t hurt if Atlantans came known as a somewhat socially volatile group, all in response to the hatred we have gotten.
