Falcons at Panthers: 3 key matchups

Falcons DE John Abraham vs. Panthers LT Jordan Gross: Abraham is the NFL’s leading active sack leader with 122. Abraham appears rejuvenated by his reunion with coordinator Mike Nolan. He started his career with Nolan and the New York Jets. He’ll play some right and left end against the Panthers, but his battles with Gross are usually fierce. Gross has started 147 games over his 10-year career.

Falcons RB Michael Turner vs. Panthers MLB Luke Kuechly: Turner averaged a season-high 6.9 yards per carry in his previous outing, Nov. 29 against the Saints, as he rushed for 83 yards on 12 carries. Kuechly, a rookie from Boston College, took over in the middle in Week 5 against Seattle. According to Panthers coaches’ film review, he has averaged 14 tackles per game since the switch. He leads the team with 147 tackles. He also has one interception and three fumble recoveries.

Falcons CB Robert McClain vs. Panthers WR Steve Smith: McClain has been a pleasant surprise for the Falcons and ranks third on the team with eight pass breakups. He solved their nickel-back woes and has provided depth to the pass defense. Teams have tried to target him, but have met stiff resistance. Smith has 53 catches for 890 yards, but only two touchdowns this season. Because the Falcons double-team him so much, he could move into the slot some and see McClain. Smith was held to three catches for 52 yards in the previous meeting.

Two most important match-ups:
1) Offensive line against DE Hardy’s big mouth and
2)Coons defense against Cam’s arrogance.

And with that nagging elbow injury Turner might not be much of a match-up at all on Sunday. Look for Quiz to FINALLY get the majority of the touches at RB

Charles Johnson is the guy I’m worried about, whether he lines up against Baker or Clabo. He was a destructive force the last time the Falcons faced the Panthers.

Not my post…………..oh no, I’m going to have to change my name…………roflmao

Just for STB4

Dear Abby:
whoops, not really. This is a letter SuxThisBZero wrote to Coach Payton back when the Caints were 0-2, desperation already setting in. Get your tissue handy cause it’s a tearjerker:

A letter to Coach Payton:
I hope this letter finds you in good health, I won’t mention your spirits since I am sure it’s as subdued as the spirit of most Caints fans. I do hope, that you are taking advantage of the free time you have (coaching your son’s team can’t be very time consuming) to take in-depth notes on this year’s efforts and results. A veteran laden (authors note – laden means burdened) team like this has no business being 0&2. Next year, there must be some changes. In particular on defense. The time has come to part ways with the defensive stalwarts on this team. There should be no players from the 09 defensive team left next year, especially if this season continues on its present course. You know who they are.
The same can be said for some of the offensive players as well, although not a complete house cleaning is needed there. Yet, some offensive players have not risen to the challenge. Again, you know who they are. Make sure you are sharpening the cutting edge of that ax. I’m looking forward to seeing you wield it with vigor and vengeance next spring.
**********************************************
Hey Sux, don’t accidentally trip on that ax, you might hurt yourself. Idiot

SuxThisBZERO…..

Glad to see you have accepted and grown to embrace the destiny of the 2012 edition of the Caints. Us Falcons fans are delighted with your teams demise………!! .REALLY……..too bad!! Don’t forget that N and D on your keyboard don’t stand for Notre Dame!! And come Sunday 5-8 won’t really feel all that different.

Maybe you will feel better if you can toss a couple of Pelican eggs at our team bus when we pull in for the Super Bowl. Mark down the date, Super Bowl XLVII 02- 03-13

This is what this dunce hat wrote back in Sept., like he knows anything about football.

Scene This B4

@Jimmy: You don’t get any points on the field of play if you catch the ball and the ground causes it to become dislodged. The rule in the endzone is different so as to remove any doubt. You have to maintain possession through the end of the play, including landing on the ground, cause six points are at stake. On the normal field of play, the reciever gets the benefit of the doubt, in the endzone, he has to earn it.

Note to SuxThisBZERO:

NFL Rule 8 Section 1 Article 3 Item 3

“The requirements for a catch in the end zone are the same as the requirements for a catch in the field of play.”

What an idiot!

Falcons need to shake up the offense by placing Harry Douglas as punt returner and/or kick returner………Dominique Franks is playing too indecisive back there and a accident is waiting to happen possibly in a critical game. Hopefully not postseason game.

Let Drew Davis play slot receiver because he has better size than HD and a better route runner than HD….

Steve Smith is a punk! He’s basically washed up, too. I doubt he will be a factor or do anything we can’t overcome. I would like to see him catch just ONE pass….and not celebrate like he’s just won the Super Bowl! Arrogant buzzard for sure!

Trivia Question: Who was the highest paid player in the NFL in 2011? ANSWER: Charles Johnson / Carolina Panthers / home town: Hawkinsville ,Georgia college :Georgia Dawgs $70,0000,000 + for the year 2011!!!!!!! The absolute key matchup of the game is the two guys that will try to double team Charles Johnson…… he got 4 sacks last time and 2 more tackles for loss. Why is Ryan’s performance off the last few games? The OL is not giving him time and not blocking for the run game. Weak link of the Falcons? The OL.

I do not think the Falcons will go very far in the playoffs especially if they consider the way they have been playing including today. I just do not see it. The team maybe 11-1, but they are anything but exciting and or explosive
