“I am still at that 95 percent,” Gonzalez said. “But I am having great time. This is one of the funnest seasons I’ve ever had in my life and obviously being 10-1 will help that. This is a great group of guys. I love playing in this offense. There are a lot of reasons to stick around. Maybe I’m just stupid.”
Despite that Gonzalez will turn 37 in February, it appears that he could still play at a high level. Family concerns and being able to maintain his high standards are vital to the 16-year veteran.
He doesn’t want to be one of those players who stays, too long.
Last season, Gonzalez and the Falcons ended the drama early. He was signed to a one-year, $7 million contact hours before the regular-season finale against Tampa Bay on Jan. 1.
With 69 catches for 712 yards and six touchdowns, Gonzalez is still a major weapon. Gonzalez caught a career-high 102 passes in 2004 for the Kansas City Chiefs.
“It’s not going to be like last year where I make the decision before the end of the season,” Gonzalez said. “I’m going to sit down and think long and hard. I’ve already thought long and hard about it and I’m pretty sure what I’m going to do. I’m going to enjoy the moment.”

I imagine a Super Bowl victory would make it 100% for Gonzo. That’s the only fair trade-off I see. Other than that…1 MORE YEAR GONZO!

Great career for hall of famer Tony G, but unfortunately he will retire never winning a championship ring and it’s amazing in 16 yrs he has never won a playoff game and he can only enjoy the moment because he knows the end is coming soon after this season and it’s time to move on from the falcons.
