Atlanta Falcons: Tony Gonzalez joined the 14,000 yard club
FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez became the eighth player and first tight end in NFL history to record more than 14,000 career receiving yards.
His 62 yards against Tampa Bay pushed his career total to 14,050 yards.
Gonzalez moved into seventh place on the all-time receiving list, passing wide receiver James Lofton, who totaled 14,004 yards in 13 seasons from 1978-1993.

Totally the Jerry Rice of TEs. I know a lot more are pass-catching TEs now but I still dont see a lot of them being able to come close to these numbers. They wont last in this league nearly as long as TG has.

@Sirreal…true about all the pass catching TEs. Alson true is the abnormal longevity Gonzo has had. But Gonzo has been a great all around TE. The dude has always took great pride in his blocking also. You don’t see that outta most of these newbie TEs that simply flex out wide and run routes

Without a doubt, the best player acquisition of the Dimitroff era, after Matt Ryan. Without TD, we’d be in a world of hurt, especially this year. Has effectively filled the vast whole of offensive production lost by Turner’s slide.
