Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (11) is shoved out of bounds by Tampa Bay Buccaneers free safety Ahmad Black (43) after a reception during the second quarter of an NFL football game Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in Tampa, Fla. Officials ruled that Jones was out of bounds. (AP Photo/Brian Blanco)
“(Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin) is an outstanding running back that had over 1,000 yards coming into this game. We kne it was going to be one of our “musts” and I thought we did a nice job with our run defense. I thought we played the run extremely wel, controlled the line of scrimmage. That is an outstanding running back.”
–Coach Mike Smith on stopping the run
“Julio made a great play. We had one-on-one coverage. He got an inside release on (Tampa Bay cornerback Leonard Johnson) and just tried to get back to the outside. I tried to throw it down there high and outside so he could make a play on it. He did, he made a great adjustment. That was a really big play for us this game.”
–Quarterback Matt Ryan on the 80-yard touchdown pass to Julio Jones
“It’s going to be important for us with the short week to get some rest tonight, to get home, enjoy this win, but get some rest and get back to work tomorrow. We played New Orleans a couple of weeks ago, so that game and their schemes are probably still pretty fresh in our minds. We’ve done this before. We know how to handle it. It’s just going to take a good effort this week.”
–Ryan on getting ready for the Saints
“It’s all good, as long as it goes on the left side of the column.”
–Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon on getting the win.
“That was our main challenge, but they have some big and fast receivers, too. But we knew we had to handle the run.”
–Cornerback Dunta Robinson on stopping the run
“Those are great. We love them quick scores. I hope that we get a lot more of them.”
–Center Todd McClure on the 1-play, 80-yard drive
“It was a good win because it was a road win. (Tampa Bay) has been playing tough all year long and came in with that mentality and we tried to match those guys today. We went out there and played physical with them and just found a way to win. Julio (Jones) did an excellent job today of giving us a big play and we just grinded it out until the end and it was a good win in the division.”
–Wide receiver Rodd White on the win
“We feel really good where we are at. We’ve got a game coming up against the Saints on Thursday night and that’s going to be a big one for us in the division. So we’ve got to move past this one and move on and get ready for the next game.”
–White on the Saints
“It’s a question of being in that situation and just being there for my teammates when they need me.”
–Running back Michael Turner on being a closer for the offense
“It hasn’t sunk in yet, but we’ve just got to keep fighting and keep moving to try and get homefield throughout the playoffs.”
–Turner on the 10-1 record

Yes Quizz did an outstanding job carrying the load, he definetly looks like starter material to me”. ” I figure they will cut me at the end of the season. 1.3 yards per carry is just not going to cut it.”

Loving what I’m seeing from our Birds. Keep it flying, and I’ll be home from China to cheer you on in person. Folks here like the Falcons (and I don’t think they are just telling me that as they back it up with a player name or a stat.) Trust me, when you get better service wearing your Falcons shimmery shirt, it is a bold-rich-new feeling.

DLed, what is it going to take to get Quizz in the backfield on most snaps? Our offense is far more “multiple” when he’s in the game. At this stage we should be using Quizz and Turner much like the NYG’s did with Bradshaw and Jacobs. Let the smaller, quicker back get the bulk of the carries and have the big back take advantage of tired legs late in the game (if he can hit the hole with authority; right now he’s slow to the line of scrimmage).

If we had a REAL QB we would have won by more than 1 point. When is Blank and SMith going to open their eyes and let Ryan go. He never should have been drafted. All the credit he gets for a game from the announcers just burn me up. White, Jones, Snelling, Rodgers, Gonzales and the rest of the team need to throw a blanket party with Ryan as the guest of honor.

You are what your record says. We’re 10-1 and no one else in our conference is. We are in prime position to bury the Aints this weekend and cheer Peyton Manning on this coming Sunday. This could be a momentous week as long as we handle biz on Thursday night.

you all must be from Boston! We are not 10-1 because of Ryan. Look at the way he plays then look at QB’s from other teams. You decide where the talent is. It sn’t Ryan
