Atlanta Falcons: Guard Harland Gunn signed

FLOWERY BRANCH  – To help buttress their offensive line, the  Falcons signed guard Harland Gunn on Tuesday.

Gunn will help back the interior of the line. Guard-Center Joe Hawley was suspended for four games by the league on Monday.

Gunn, 6-2, 310 pounds, was originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a college free agent out of Miami (Fla.) following the 2012 NFL Draft.

He was waived by the Cowboys and signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad on September 2.

Gunn played four seasons at Miami and was a starter on the Hurricanes offensive line during his junior and senior seasons.

As a senior in 2011, he did not allow a sack in pass protection and helped pave the way for running back Lamar Miller to rush for 1,272 yards.

Before you ask:

Pay – The minimum pay for practice squad players is $5,200 per week during the season.

Free Agents – Players on the practice squad are free agents and are available to be signed should another NFL team wish to sign them to their active rosters.

Welcome to the Active Roster Harlund Gunn………

how far along is Grimes in his recovery & is there any way that he’d be ready to play in the playoffs if we secure that 1st round bye? Because it’s my understanding that we have the option to bring one guy off the IR who’s been on their for 6-8 plus weeks, which he surely has

Gunn seems kinda small for a Guard at only 310 lbs. He is just a few pounds heavier than our #1 RB. Maybe we can get him to loose a pound or two and start running the football for us!~

Nique, man, sorry………… Achilles injury……no one….and NOBODY would risk that re-injury at this point. He is probably just now getting to put some weight on that foot and still in a boot. Nothing worse than Achilles or rotator cuff for rehab time.

WoW! To all you Tuner turn coats, You must not know anything about football. When the Falcons were pounding all the other guys with Turner and Snelling we were winning games and making it to the platoffs. When we got there we lost because the better teams could stop our running game and we could not throw like we needed to. So then Everybody was “oh no , we got to get this passing game fixed.” Now we can pass most of the time but we are trying to run from a passing formation and not from a two back play action set. We should take several pages from Dan Reeves playbook and only be in shotgun formation when we have too.

The good thing is that Sain’ts fans are so arrogant that they are trolling practically every board around the NFL. Other fans are beginning to realize what we in this town already know, that Sain’ts fans are the scum of the earth. Even the local radio station that tried to befriend Sain’ts fans (trying to be regional) have turned on them after suffering mountains of hate calls and texts from demented Sain’ts fans. On top of that, TEAMS from around the league are starting to get sick and tired of the Sain’ts players’ attitudes, as well as the phony media love for that 3rd world mosquito flop house known as New Orleans.

And speaking of arrogant, Pick Magnet’s days are numbered at the NFL Network.
