Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is active for today’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Quarterback Dominique Davis, wide receiver Kevin Cone, safety Charles Mitchell, linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, Phillipkeith Manley
Lamar Holmes and defensive tackle Travian Robertson were all deactivated.
Jones has 44 catches 703 yards and five touchdowns this season. He injured his right ankle early against the New Orleans Saints last Sunday and missed 28 offensive snaps. He returned to the game and caught a big 52-yard pass in the fourth quarter of the 31-27 loss.
Jones didn’t practice all week. Before the game, he ran eight routes under the watchful eye of receivers coach Terry Robiskie. After conferring with head coach Mike Smith, Jones returned to the locker room and started getting ready for the game.
Weatherspoon (right ankle) will miss his third straight game. He suffered his injury with 9:03 to play in the fourth quarter against Philadelphia on Oct. 28. He is close to returning and likely could have played, but with three games in a row against NFC South foes after the Arizona game, the Falcons apparently wanted him completely healthy for a their division title run.
Mike Peterson and Akeem Dent will pick up Weatherspoon’s snaps.
Both Jones and Weatherspoon were listed as questionable for the game on Friday’s injury report.
Falcons Wide receiver Kevin Cone (groin) and safety Charles Mitchell (calf) were declared out on Friday.
Falcons defensive end John Abraham (back), running back Michael Turner (groin) and defensive tackle Vance Walker (ribs) were all listed on the injury report, but are active.
For the Cardinals, quarterback Kevin Kolb (ribs), wide receiver LeRon Byrd, linebacker Jamaal Westerman, guard Senio Kelemete, tackle Pat McQuistan, tight end Todd Heap, defensive end Calais Campbell and defensive tackle David Carter are inactive.

I’d rather have Spoon in and Julio out. Anyway we can still win this very winnable game. GO FALCONS

Ryan can be very predictable in his passes. The Cards watched film and knew his favorite routes. He also eyeballs the receiver too much. So 3 easy picks. I see they still have not even converted a 3rd down … yet they are tied with the (alleged) best team in the NFC.
