NEW ORLEANS – Falcons wide receiver Roddy White didn’t gave the Saints any credit after their 31-27 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
When asked what did it say about the Falcons that they couldn’t beat a 3-5 Saints team, White said, “It doesn’t say much about us about us. I think we had opportunities today. It’s not like they came out here and just. … I feel like we kind of gave it away. We just gave it to them. It wasn’t nothing they did. It was want we did in not cashing in on opportunities. We play them against in three weeks and we’ll be ready. It will be at the Dome and hopefully we’ll beat them that time.”
White was the intended receiver on the Falcons’ fourth down pass attempt that Saints cornerback Jabari Greer deflected with 1:46 left to play.
“He made a heck of play,” White said. “He came underneath. He read it right. He dove in there and knocked it down. Good play by him.”

Hey guys let’s spell check a bit when writing the blogs. Your points are good but sometimes the blatant misspelling of words are hard to digest . Just kidding, Falcons should have won this game but beat themselves. Insufficient run plays and too many defensive lapses. Better to happen today then in the playoffs. Coaching staff has to evaluate Turner’s ability to run efficiently. If not, they have to have another plan. Matt Ryan should not have to pass 50 plus times a game to win! Go Falcons

The problem is this team is still trying to set up the pass by establishing the run and has proven ineffective. It’s time to adjust that philosophy. Need to start passing more on 1st down, and that will open up some running lanes.

Game ball to Mr. White, he did his job today, just think if he pulled that catch in off the bomb by Ryan and scored and stoled the 1 point win from another losing record team………..the New Orleans Caints !
Just think if Ryan had of connected in the endzone to Tony Gozales for the TD but Ryan didn’t see him open………..we woud have stoledthe win fro another losing record team…….the Caints !
Its okay….we are 8 – 1 and on top of the other thee in the NFC South and they aint never gonna catch us this year!……………………heheheheh…………………NEVER ! ! ! !

ATL for life. We did shoot ourselves in the foot a few times. Stupid penalties and not fully capitalizing on NO mistakes. But honesty, you can’t expect to win them all late in the 4th qt on a game winning drive. eventually it will catch up with you, like today. don’t know what happened to Roddy White on that last pass to him. don’t really understand why he started running backwards. probably would have been 6. but like I said, that last minute stuff will only work for so long. might be good we lost 1, that’s just added stress trying to go undefeated. could of became a distraction we don’t need. we just need to stay focused on winning a playoff game. oh yeah, where the run game!

maybe atl didn’t ‘give’ it away…but they sure didn’t ‘take’ it when they had the chance…winners ‘take’..coach cheap shot surely looked like the proverbial ‘deer’ today…didn’t seem to have much control over 22 and 25….taking notes on the penalty causers so he could ’stand them in front of the class’ at practice…great team building exercise…NOT..

The Falcons lost because of (A) Soft secondary. (B) Turner the “Burner” has concrete cleats and (C) Defense can’t stop the run. Matt Ryan did his job. Defense did not. Need to run Rodgers more out of the backfield. Revenge will be sweet in the dome.

Don’t know why Roddy W. has to go saying all those things about an undefeated season. Giving opponents “bulletin board” material is dumb. Fuel a players passion and he has an edge. In this parity-driven NFL sometimes the difference in winning and losing is a matter of “who wants it more?”
Smitty seems to keep the Falcons on an even keel, but quotes like Roddy’s need to be kept to the locker room. Let the talking be done on the field.

Gave it to them? Get outta here. I suppose you guys always give it to them considering how poor your record is against them. Just take the loss like a man and go home. No need to try and downplay another team when you lose. A W means Win which means you played better than the other team and you earned it. Nuff said.

I understand we didnt give anything away. We wanted to win. But we didn’t play with the discipline were use too. But for u haters, that don’t change the fact of what we’ve done and are doing. Get our D back on track, which we will, and the super bowl is well in grasp. Oh yeah, bout run game, would like it to be better but with the weapons we got, I think we can overcome that minor obstacle. Oh yeah, Go Dawgs

Michael Turner plays to not get hurt. He waits behind the line of scrimmage for a hole to open like he is a scat back or something. He does not run like a power back at all. He has padded his numbers for years by building his numbers on one good run with a huge hole open but while waiting for that run he either loses yards or gains 1-2 yards per carry. He will never get the tough yardage, and is honestly no better than maybe the 60th best back in the league. If you look at his big runs like the 43 yarder last week you will notice that any back would have made that run and most would have probably scored because they are nowhere near as slow as turner. I mean look at Jacquizz’s yards per carry running behind the exact same line.

Watched the game on replay coz I had to work…disappointed yes, but not discouraged. The Birds played with spirit and never gave up. Nice to feel we are in every game till the end. My feel is we need to tighten the coverage on the 8 yds and under passes. Brees ate us up. Tackling again was a problem which I suspect will be addressed this week. Also, as much as I hate to admit it, Turner is losing a step or two. In the NFL, that’s all it takes to become a benchwarmer. Continually, he stops at the line, looking for a hole and ends up with a loss or short gain. We need some explosive speed off the line. ‘Quizz seems to be providing that. If we used him like we used to use Warrick Dunn, I believe he may be the answer. You can’t question his toughness.
To all you naysayers…really??? You’re complaining about 8 and 1???? We will be the NFC South Champs and blow the “no playoff win” stigma away this year. Not being overly optimistic… just saying what I see. Go Falcons!

It’s not Turner’s fault – the offensive line hardly ever opens any running lanes. Jim Brown couldn’t gain much behing that half -assed line! And, Roddy’s right – the Falcons gave the game away, like the weak -minded team they’ve been forever…

Roddy is our “money guy”, and he’ll be fine…..but without some semblance of a running game, we’re doomed in the Playoffs!!!
Sit Turner, until we can trade/replace him, and give the load to Snelling & Jacquizz….we’ll never miss him, I promise. I mean, 15 yards on 13 carries? REALLY??? My Grandma could do that…

Hilarious.
Fans of a 4-5 time trying to tell fans of an 8-1 team what time it is.
When you’re 8-1, you can afford to sit back, assess the situation, and make a change.
When you’re 4-5, any little victory counts because you’re not even a .500 team, and the playoffs are a distant beacon.
Enjoy your little “hey, we’re not a winning team yet but we’re trying to get there” victory while you can. The NFC South is ours. And you’re beneath the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Eat that, swamp dwellers…
