Falcons fantasy injury report: Garrett Reynolds is out for Cowboys game

FLOWERY BRANCH – The undefeated 7-0 Falcons will be short-handed when they face the Dallas Cowboys (3-4) at 8:20 p.m. Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

In addition to playing without linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (ankle) and wide receiver Kevin Cone (hamstring), the Falcons declared right guard Garrett Reynolds (back) out for the game Friday.

Defensive tackle Vance Walker (illness) was the only player added to the injury report. He’s questionable for the game.

Rookie Peter Konz, who started for Reynolds last week against against Philadelphia, will get his second NFL start. Joe Hawley, who has been inactive for four games this season, will serve as the interior linemen backup against the Cowboys.

Hawley started 12 games last season.

Also on the injury report, defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (knee) is questionable for the game. Wide receivers Roddy White (back), Harry Douglas (knee/ankle) and Drew Davis (hamstring) are probable. Kicker Matt Bryant (back) is also probable

Konz played well last week. Would not be surprised if he earns a starting position when garrett is healthy.

Garrett Reynolds is done in Atlanta. It’s Konz’s spot now.

Babineaux will play in the game. Only guy we are going to miss is Sean Weatherspoon. We have not played great at home this year, except for the Broncos game on MNF. There’s a difference in emotion in a regular 1:00 home game, compared to a 8:20 p.m home game on national television. Falcons will play very well and win the game.

I do hope Vance Walker plays. Dude is very underrated. One of our better defensive linemen.

As long as we have Matt Ryan, we’ve always got a chance. Our defense will play for Weatherspoon and one player missing isn’t going to cause us to lose.

As far as I can recall Rowdy White has NEVER missed a game since drafted…so you can scratch the “probable”. Rowdy is playing. And Reynolds will regret missing a couple games cause Konz won’t be giving that starting job back

Is Robert James still on the active roster? I haven’t heard his name lately but see him listed. Just wondering if he’ll get some playing time with Nicholas still banged up as well..

lowdownjj, Roddy is on the injury report every week (it seems) as probable.

Hindu — Fantasy players want the injury info. I think that’s how it’s supposed to work.

Decon, I hope you are right about the emotion…but I remember Chicago shutting down Dallas, in Dallas, on a Sunday night game. If Babineaux can’t play…it will be very, very tough to win this game. It is the world against the Falcons now.

The Falcons have two things this year that they never had:
1. Depth – They have players waiting in the wings that may be future hall of famers. They all have something special that landed them on this very special team. They just haven’t had a chance to get on the field.
2. Coaches that know how to get synergistic results out of the combination of all 11 players on the field. The sum of the whole becomes more than the sum of all the individual players. These coaches are so good that they can totally hide a mis-firing individual among the other 10. These coaches are NOT putting players on the field to fail… they are putting them ALL out there to win and giving them the schemes that make that possible. GO FALCONS! YOU ARE RISING UP!

win.

such a troll move to put “fantasy” in the headline, especially when referring to an offensive lineman. so typical of the ajc.

W/ya mikey; very good points, also note these coaches make adjustments at half-time, which the old coordinators didn’t know how to do, how many games have Jacksonville & Auburn have won since these dudes(Marlarkey & Vangorder) went over there wreck’n there set-up?

The part about the depth also is nobody on this team wants to let the team down. Players are stepping up their game. But hiding a player that is playing subpar is a stretch. This is the NFL and if you don’t have an A game it is impossible to hide it.
