PHILADELPHIA — Here are some notes on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who directed the Falcons to scores — three touchdowns and three field goals — on their first six drives against the Eagles on Sunday.
The Falcons opened the game with a 16-play, 80-yard drive that spanned 8:43 on the game clock. Ryan passed to wide receiver Drew Davis for a 15-yard touchdown for his first career touchdown reception.
Ryan has thrown at least one touchdown in 22 straight games, which is the third-longest active streak in the NFL behind QB Drew Brees (49) and QB Tom Brady (40). He has now thrown at least one touchdown in 37 of his last 39 games.
Ryan tossed his second touchdown pass of the day on Atlanta’s second possession, hitting running back Jason Snelling for a three-yard score. Ryan has posted six multi-touchdown games this season and the Falcons are 29-5 during his career when he throws two-or-more touchdowns.
Ryan passed to wide receiver Julio Jones for a 63-yard touchdown for his third touchdown pass of the day and his longest scoring pass of the season.
Ryan got the Falcons offense off to a fast start as he completed 17 of 20 pass attempts for 197 yards with three touchdowns and a 147.3 passer rating in the first half.
Ryan finished the day completing 22 of 29 passes for 262 yards (75.9 percent) with three touchdowns, no interceptions and a season-best 137.4 quarterback rating. The Eagles game marked the 15th time that Ryan has thrown for three-or-more touchdowns. Atlanta owns a 15-0 record when he accomplishes that feat, including a 4-0 mark this season.
Ryan’s 137.4 passer rating was his highest of the season and the third highest of his career. The Falcons are 28-0 when his quarterback rating is above 100, including five wins in 2012.
