THE FALCONS (6-0)
–The Falcons are 6-0 for the first time in team history and are the NFL’s last unbeaten team for the first time ever. The Atlanta’s six straight wins are its longest single-season win streak since winning eight straight in 2010 and three games shy of the team’s longest single-season win streak (nine in 1980 and 1998).
–Tackles Sam Baker and Tyson Clabo both have struggled in pass protection. Collectively, they’ve allowed eight sacks, six quarterback hits and 22 hurries.
– Defensive end Ray Edwards has no sacks, two quarterback hits and two hurries in 171 snaps.
–In past 5 games on road, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has completed 143 of 213 passes (67.1 pct.) for 1,612 yards with 13 touchdowns vs. two interceptions for a passer rating of 106.
- Ryan has 14 touchdown passes this season, the most ever by a Falcons QB through 6 games. Chris Miller had 13 in 1992 and Steve Bartkowski had 12 in 1983 and 1981.
–Falcons are 27-0 when Ryan has 100-plus rating (4-0 in 2012). When Ryan has three-plus touchdown passes, the Falcons are 14-0 (3-0 in 2012).
–RB Michael Turner rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown in the last meeting with the Eagles, a 35-31 victory at the Georgia Dome in Week 2 last season.
–Turner is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry on his first 10 attempts, but 7.0 on attempts 11 through 20.
–In past four games vs. Philadelphia, wide receiver Roddy White has 26 catches for 323 yards and 4 touchdowns. Since 2007, he has 508 catches, most in NFC.

–Tight end Tony Gonzalez had seven catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns in last meeting. He has 99 touchdown receptions. He leads NFL tight ends with 43 catches on 54 targets. He has 50 yards or more receiving in five of six games.
–Defensive end John Abraham had 9 ½ sacks last season. He already has six this season. Overall, he has 10.5 sacks in his past nine games. His 118 sacks are the most by an active player.
–Cornerback Asante Samuel had 23 of his career 46 interceptions during the four seasons he played for the Eagles (2008-11).
–Free safety Thomas DeCoud has tied his career-high with four interceptions through six games in 2012.
THE EAGLES (3-3)
–Quarterback Michael Vick has 28 interceptions, 30 fumbles and 74 sacks since 2010. Vick has 13 turnovers this season, second most in the NFL. The only quarterback with more turnovers than Vick this season is Matt Cassel, who has been benched by Kansas City in favor of Brady Quinn.
–The Eagles have won four of their past five at home.
–RB LeSean McCoy had 116 scrimmage yards (95 rush, 21 rec.) and two rushing touchdowns in last meeting. (The Falcons are giving up 143.8 yards per game, 28th in the league.).
–The Eagles are 10-1 when McCoy rushes for 100 yards or more.
–In three career games vs. Atlanta, wide receiver DeSean Jackson has two touchdowns.
–In three career meetings, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has 24 catches for 413 yards (137.7 per game) and four touchdowns.

Matt Ryan is the better quarterback. Our defense is more opportunistic. Falcons pull the upset in Philly!

The Falcons won 9 in a row in 1980 (not 1990) and 1998. In 1990 they were only 5-11.

Eagles will try to match up 1 on 1 wide WRs. JJ or RW will have a big day. Throw out all the numbers expect for points scored, points allowed, & turnovers.

Turnovers are going to decide this game. The Falcons opportunitistic defense vs. the extremely turnover-prone Eagles should tip the game to the Dirty Birds!

So the Falcons give up more yards on defense than Philly, yet hold opponents to less points. The same is true on offense – where Philly has more total yards, yet scores less.
Yep, look at that turnover margin. It will be the key to victory as someone already stated.

Matt Ryan went to Boston College, I doubt this is his first experience with passing in inclement New England weather. The weather will certainly play a part in the game but the worst of the weather arrives Sunday evening. High of 60. Breezy and cooler with periods of rain Winds NNE 13 mph
Gusts: 19 mph. Basically the same forecast for Jets/Miami @ MetLife Stadium. Look for 300+ yards passing from the 2007 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner and Heisman Trophy finalist.

I realize we are not considered to be “mudders” as a dome team. So let’s pull this out as all of the ANALysists are saying we won’t.

It seems the Falcons always do different when predication are made. Best in turnovers becomes
worst in turnovers. More interceptions becomes less interceptions. Good against the run becomes
worst against the run. Do you get my drift?
The same works with the offense. Fewer interceptions become more. Good running becomes no
running. Passing game falls flat. Are the Falcons one of the NFL teams that seems to be cursed?
