Atlanta Falcons: Tight end Michael Palmer returned to practice today

FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons tight end Michael Palmer, who suffered a shoulder injury in the win over San Diego on Sept. 23, returned to practice on Monday.

“Missing three games, that’s a long time to be standing on the side lines watching your teammates,” Palmer said. “Luckily, we were able to keep winning so that always makes it easier.”

Palmer didn’t have much of a bye week, either.

“I spent the whole week here getting treatment,” Palmer said. “So it wasn’t too much of a bye week for me. But that’s OK. I’m just ready to get back out there on the field.”

Palmer hopes to be ready to play against Philadelphia.

“I’m hoping to hit the ground running,” Palmer said.

He played in the first three games and has two catches for seven yards. Palmer started against Denver on Sept. 17 when the Falcons opened in a two tight end formation.

@Kew: Here’s something you should be able to digest then: Your team doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to go the distance, your team will flounder when the chips are down. Get ready for a gigantic letdown in November!

Tony has been awesome this year and he is a first-ballot HOFer. That being said, I have seen him this year getting beat or lazy with this blocks. I haven’t watched Palmer close enough over the years to evaluate this blocking but let’s hope our run game improves with him in there.

I was really hoping to see what Ewing could do with the blocking.. i gues we will have to wait n see.

Carolina Panthers fired their GM today.
After watching Cam Newton’s post game presser yesterday, It is quite apparent that he is not and probably will never be a professional QB in the NFL.
Cam Newton’s demeanor of “aw schucks, i dont know” and ‘Ill take any advice the media can give me’ or ‘I dont know if its the coordinator’s fault’ Is enough evidence that I would have fired that GM too.

Whats worse than having Cam Newton at the head of your 1-5 team? Getting beat by Cam Newton.

@Ueeediot I think Cam’s been so spoiled he just doesnt get “losing” because he’s so used to being catered to.lol He has to grow up as a man. Has nothing to do with football. I agree that it was a pretty pitiful display for a man who is responsible for leading his team. Only what 24? He’s just gotta grow up and quit moping around. I wanna see what he can do once he stops crying and being babied.lol

Its good to see Palmer back. He’s more of a role player than we realize sometimes. HOWEVER, we have to do something about the TE position THIS offseason. I say we send a 5th rd pick to the Jets for Dustin Keller. Its not like Sanchez’s sorry tail can do anything with him. LOL

Funny SeenThisB4 comes here and talks about the Saints. People answer him and soon the entire thing is about the Saints. Yet if you ask the writer, “Why are we always talking about former Falcons instead of our team?” he comes down on you. Stop feeding this troll. Go to any Saints blog and find Falcons discussed as much as the Saints are here.

@4:48 pm……..Perhaps your comment can be considered to be feeding the cowardly taint’s trolls, also?
Just saying.

@ SirReal
I agree that it is immaturity.
Problem is, he is never going to become more mature in the timeframe he has to succeed.

Cam has been sheltered and able to win on his own abilities. That dont fly in the NFL (which stands for Not For Long when you have that attitude)

Soon the locker room will stop playing for a guy who throws them under the bus and doesnt own it himself.

Growing up as a man is what college was for.
This is why the GM was fired. He spent a #1 draft choice on a kid who played at the SEC level for all of 1 season.

Palmer is not a factor. Out of all the young athletic tight ends we end up with this guy. How did he make the team. Who cares. YAC is ridicoulous .

Well its good to see old ‘SeenThisB4′ back on the Falcon’s blog spouting his drivel. It really takes a pair to compare his ‘dirty play’ Saints to the Falcons. Not only are the Falcon better in the won-lost category but are light years better both on and off the field. He talks of the Falcons ‘projected’ collapse in the second half of the season but he fails to address the Saints ‘actual’ collapse in games they have played to date. Come on ‘SeenThisB4′ lets wait to the end of the season and see who is the division winner and who goes to the playoffs. You may want to get your ‘Aints’ bag ready to wear over your head.
