Baptism by fire if I’ve ever seen it.

Can’t believe how much of an impact Stephen Nicholas has on this defense; can’t wait to get him back on the field. Hopefully Dent can learn from these reps and really grow from this. He had a pretty tough game.

The Falcons have won six games, now they can build on getting better. You have to play well for the remaining season. But you must play great from about the fourteenth game going into the playoffs. I don’t know how their going to do it. But it’s called peaking at the right time. Rise Up!!!

We’re putting a lot on the shoulders of these O-Linemen and while they’re doing some things well, our depth really looks shaky. We aren’t even halfway through a long season..

Just saw on the news story on the Falcon’s Season………….”Undefeated and Unloved”…………hehehehe, so true about the Falcons not getting any recognition from the Football Media. Thats okay, Coach Smith keep doing what you and the staff have to do to win the games.
We know we have a bad running game……….we know we have a weak O-line………..and we know we don’t have the best defense in the league but the bottom line is winning and continuing to win one week to the next and keeping the injuries out and players healthy.

Sorry BG but I watched Dent for his entire career at UGA and never at any time did he show me anything special. I was shocked when the Falcons signed him. If you study the game yesterday you’ll see that he was out of position, slow to react, and not very physical at contact. Most all his tackles were well downfield. I know the Falcon coaches are aware of this too and we can only hope that Stephen Nicholas will be ready to go after the bye week, but even then we will still be weak in in our 3 LB run defense.

Luck ain’t got nothing to do with it. The Falcons are winning the games that they are supposed to win. Simple and sweet.

What is the story on Konz? I really thought he’d be starting by now. Lord knows we need an upgrade on that line. And will Cory Peters be back after the bye week? Anyone know?

Why did we sign Ray Edwards again?

Ray edwards is a bust pure and simple kroy bierrman should be listed as the starter, i agree dents level of play isnt acceptable we need a new MLB, i think our defense should stick with playing more nickle because dent is a liability and we dont really have anyone who can take his spot unless we play bierrman at LB, which would actually be smart IMO, but i trust our coaching staff to make the right calls lets get some rest and go all out after the bye week

These guys are non-factor underachievers:
1) Dent
2) Jerry
3) Edwards
4) Rogers

Hobbler, you stated that Rodgers was a non -factor. Tell me this maybe you can explain this too me. If you have a two hundred and fifty pound running back, who can’t run though a hole because there is none, what makes you think a 5″6″ guy can run though an unopen hole. how about the run offense for the O-line how about them? the whole O-line is a non-factor in the run game. for a running back to gain yardage there must be an effective O-line, PERIOD!!! O.J. couldn’t cut though a hole like that. LOL!

Falcons have no running game because they have no running backs. Turner, Rodgers, Snelling…probably can’t play for any other NFL team…very slow compared to other backs in league. Too bad Dent played “100%” of snaps. He was terrible. If he made 8 tackles it was because the RB ran over him and he couldn’t get out of the way. Falcons are fine team over-all, but the RB and MLB positions are going to hurt more and more as season goes on.

Wow…..2 days of a hard fought 6th victory of the season, and the negativity from the Fan rears its ugly head. Were these the same people who were telling us how to win in Pre-Season? All I know is that the Falcon are 6-0. They have a week off to work out some kinks. The only thing I saw last week was they seamed to be tired. I wonder how much much the alternating home games and away games are impacting the team?

To “I usually just read but…” : Sorry, but my comments about Dent are not because I’m a Tech fan. I’ve been a Dawg fan all my life. I challenge you to watch the replay of Sunday’s game. Watch every defensive snap and specifically the play of Dent. I promise you that you’ll see just what I did. Akeem Dent has no business playing linebacker on a NFL team. No doubt we are super thin at LB right now, but I’ll be shocked again if he gets any substantial playing time from here on.

Falcon’s offensive – Defensive line the secret of their success or failure.
They do well, we’ll win. Otherwise, we lose.
