FLOWERY BRANCH–Falcons tight end Michael Palmer (shoulder), fullback Lousaka Polite (hamstring), cornerback Christopher Owens (head) and running back Antone Smith (hamstring) did not practice today.
Coach Mike Smith already has ruled out Palmer for Sunday’s game. Palmer had his right arm in a sling Wednesday.
Owens and Smith missed the game at San Diego on Sunday.
Five Falcons participated in practice on a limited basis Wednesday: defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux(groin), tackle Tyson Clabo (hip), wide receiver Julio Jones (hand) and linebackers Stephen Nicholas (thigh) and Mike Peterson (ribs).
For Carolina linebacker Jon Beason (knee), guard Mike Pollak (shoulder) and defensive ends Antwan Applewhite (knee) and Greg Hardy (hand) did not practice.
Tackle Byron Bell (ankle), linebacker Thomas Davis (calf), cornerback Chris Gamble (shoulder), safety Colin Jones (shoulder) and running back Jonathan Stewart (toe) were limited.

First! Secondly, I’m just glad Julio isnt ruled out. That was a scare on Sunday and we honestly looked different without him. Still effective but not explosive.

Sorry DOL, didn’t mean to strike a nerve there. I wasnt trying to make fun of the headline in a malicious way. The way the headline reads is funny though. My comment was a reference to the Funkadelic song, “I got a thing, you got a thing, everybody’s got a thing”….although it would be funny if I actually didn’t realize it was an injury report and thought that you were breaking the news that Lousaka Polite has a hamstring in his leg
