UPDATED
FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons coach Mike Smith addressed the arrest of defensive end John Abraham on Tuesday.
“Anytime anyone in our organization shows up negatively in the paper we are very disappointed as an organization,” Smith said. “There are certain policies and procedures that we have to follow in terms of the NFL and this is a legal process and we’re going to let the legal process and run its course.”
Smith would not say if Abraham will be disciplined and added that he expected him to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
“Our discipline policies are something that we keep internally,” Smith said. “There are certain guidelines that are set by the NFL and NFLPA that were collectively bargained. Anything that we do, we’ll keep that internally.”
Abraham was the second player arrested over the past week. Running back Michael Turner was arrested for driving under the influence after the Denver Broncos game. He was started and played the entire game against San Diego.
“Anytime that there’s something negative, there is cause for concern internally whether if it happens once or every five years or every six months are once a week,” Smith said. “There are areas of concerned. We are very disappointed, but we’ve got to prepare for our next opponent and that’s the Carolina Panthers.”

Atlanta police arrested Falcons defensive end John Abraham tonight at Atlantic Station in Midtown.
John Chafee of the APD’s Public Affairs Unit said were responding to a call about a woman threatening to jump from one of the buildings when Abraham refused to exit the scene. Chafee said police charged Abraham with obstruction of police and obstruction of fire fighters.
Chafee said the charges are misdemeanors and Abraham was booked at the Fulton County Jail.

Abraham did not respond to an email message and his agent, Rich Rosa, did not immediately return a message left on his voicemail. A Falcons spokesman also did not return a phone message.
“We are aware of the news regarding John Abraham,” the Falcons said in a statement. “We are in the process of gathering more information and we will have no further comment at this time.”
Chafee said the woman, who did not jump and was uninjured, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
According to a copy of the police report provided by Chafee, officers moved people away from the scene and put up crime scene tape to restrict onlookers from the area. The police report said Abraham entered the restricted area and was confronted by a firefighter who “repeatedly ordered him to leave the scene.”
Nearby officers then responded and ordered Abraham to leave, according to the police report. The report says Abraham “refused and insisted on continuing [farther] into the scene” at which point police arrested him.
Abraham is the second Falcons player to be arrested in the past week.
Gwinett County police arrested running back Michael Turner early last Tuesday on charges of DUI and speeding. Turner later apologized to the Falcons and the team’s fans for what he called a “bad decision on my part.”

I am getting tired of seeing Atlanta police officers arrest our star players. I don’t care if no one agrees with my opinion on these matters, but what kind of city looks to arrest our own players and cause such a stir and possible suspensions. Are these cops all bitter Saints fans or something? Cut some slack, quit arresting our own players! Makes me sick

This is the REAL STORY……………………………………………………
ATLANTA 38 —-CAROLINA 17
Atlanta 4 – 0
Tampa 1 – 3
Carolina 1 – 3
NO 0 – 4
__________________________________________
That number on Atlanta’s score is probably just about right. But the Carolina points will be 14 or less. As far as the Caints going to Green Bay they should save the airfare and concede. The Pack is gonna open up a can of whup ass on that defenseless defense.

Ryan’s eight touchdowns are tied for the league lead with Roethlisberger and Buffalo’s Ryan Fitzpatrick.
His QB rating of 114 is also tops in the league. Ryan leads an offense that is scoring 31.3 points per game, tied for third in the NFL.

WHAH, the cops don’t come to our neighborhood when we call. WHAH the cops arrest people when they interfere, WHAH cops are racists. My guess is that its a good chance the cops and firefighters were black. Now where is your argument. How about don’t live with people that cause this drama. Trash, black, white, blue, etc
