FLOWERY BRANCH — To celebrate the start of the 2012 football season, the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders have released their 2012-13 calendar this week.
The 16-month calendar features members of this season’s Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders squad in exotic
locations throughout Jamaica.
“I think fans will enjoy the newest edition of the Atlanta Falcons cheerleader calendar, including the beautiful setting of where it was shot in scenic Jamaica,” said Falcons senior vice president of Sales & Marketing Jim Smith. “This calendar is sure to be a popular item again this year.”
This is the third year the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders have released a team calendar, but the first year they’ve traveled to Jamaica.
The cheerleader photos were shot in natural settings throughout the country, including Mahoe Falls, Coyaba Gardens, Dunn’s River Falls and Montego Bay’s Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa.
“Atlanta is a sister city to Montego Bay, Jamaica, so we were thrilled to welcome these incredible women
to the island,” said John Lynch, Jamaica’s director of tourism. “The island offers a kaleidoscope of backdrops for a photo shoot and the juxtaposition of these beautiful women against Jamaica’s exquisite scenery turned out to be quite impressive.”
The team’s calendar also celebrates Atlanta talent beyond the gridiron.
Atlanta-based stylist Nina Nikomid and Jamison Shaw Hairdressers styled the cheerleaders during the photo shoot, while nationally-acclaimed Stella & Dot and Pur Minerals provided the jewelry and make-up, respectively.
The Falcons creative team of Michael Benford and Matt Lange directed and designed the calendar.
“We are truly grateful for our partners for making our 2012 calendar shoot possible,” said Chato Hendrix, coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders. “We consider it an honor and privilege to represent the Atlanta Falcons brand internationally and locally by attending over 500 civic and corporate events annually.”
The calendar will be available for purchase in-stadium during all eight Atlanta Falcons home games as well as online at the team’s newly launched retail website, www.officialfalconsgear.com.
