FLOWERY BRANCH — Safety Mark LeGree, who was signed to the practice squad, is with his sixth NFL team.
LeGree, who’s from Columbus and played at Pacelli High, hopes this is his last stop.
“I don’t think every time is my last chance, but I do treat it as if it is,” LeGree said. “I just want to work harder and try my best to stand out so that I can be here. I don’t like jumping from team to team. I don’t like that lifestyle. I want to find a home.”
LeGree was drafted by the Seattle in the fifth round of the 2011 draft. He’s also had a cup of coffee with Arizona, New York Jets, San Francisco (twice) and Chicago.
“It was great because I wasn’t expecting this at all,” said LeGree, who played at Appalachian State. “I always wanted to be close to home. I played high school football in Georgia. For the Falcons to want me here was just great.”
LeGree knows how the practice squad works.
“I’ve already experienced it,” LeGree said. “It varies from week to week on the practice squad. My goal is to try to stay here as long as I can.”

DOL. Can you give us a bigger profile on this guy. With his itinerary, there are obviously some outstanding positives about this guy. And potentially, a big “not yet” sign on his potential. Can we get more feedback?

tjhook, that’s irresponsible. I mean, that would require work, and also be really, really interesting to read and learn about. A crazy article of the type you speak would allow fans to get excited about him like the other PS guys we know a bit better from their time on the 90 man roster during the off season. And that would just wrong. You must have taken your crazy pills today or something.

DOL, maybe you could elaborate on how Falcon management came up with his name instead of the previously cut Safeties or any other bigger name free agents. Maybe LeGree was referred to Nolan by one of the recent 49ers DCs, like Vic Fangio or Greg Manusky? Just guessing, but that’s what we do out here in cyberspace when faced with minimal information.
