Why not put Lamar in front of Baker. He looked good enough against the 2nd string to warrant a little more time against the #1 unit.

@Michael: I say the Saints 1s have already scored 17 on a top notch bonifide AFC defense. What did your team’s #1s do against a lowly dolphins defense 1s? 3 points, in case you forgot.

It’s still just preseason, besides, Coach Kromer has to get his bearings tonight and Thursday, so win or lose, I give him a pass, tonight and Thursday.

This guy Cadet, you guys should keep an eye on, Saints can’t keep 5 running backs, this guy wll play somewhere in the NFL this year and make a name for himself. I guarantee it. I want to keep him, but don’t see how, unless we put one of our running backs on IR or trade one.

I agree with Jesse. I thought Holmes looked stout. D-linemen could not get around that enormous body on passing plays, and I saw him make one nice block on a run. Baker got pushed back a couple times on passing plays, but I didn’t see him get embarrassed.

There is a new rookie ” Quarterback-Receiver Tandem ” in the NFL and it is the ” Dominator “, yes thats right…………………….” Davis-Toone” connection = ” Touchdown ” !…………………………………….
Coach Smith has got to keep both these players…………………………………………….

Davis should be #2 quarterback, he’s outplayed Redman and certainly Parker Wilson.

Please release Chris Owens b4 e gives up 5 more TD’s this year.

We look pretty good except for our rushing attack. I hope that we can get more explosive rus from scrimmage. We need that respect so that we truly can go over the top.

Looking forward to the season! Go Birds!

The league should establish a new position outside the 53-man roster, that of QB player-coach for the practice squad. Put a green jersey on him, and there are a lot of guys who could fill that role.

_______________________________________________

They’re just not going to demote Redman to #3 even if Davis has had a great preseason. Redman has a greater command of the playbook even with the new coaches, greater timing with the receivers, and a solid history in the role. Like I said before, the difference between #2 and #3 is a thin line and can change on a series or scrapped elbow. Davis will eventually earn it if he deserves it.

And his name is not Parker Wilson, it’s John Parker Wilson or as I like to call him, Billy Bob Joe Tom John Parker Wilson. The Billy Bob Joe Tom parts are interchangable……..you can even say Billy Joe Tom Bob John Parker Wilson. But you can’t just say Parker Wilson, he won’t answer to that.

Favre was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round, 33rd overall in the 1991 NFL Draft.[13] On July 19, 1991, Favre agreed to a three-year, $1.4 million contract with a reported signing bonus of $350,000.[14] Atlanta coach Jerry Glanville did not approve of the drafting of Favre, saying it would take a plane crash for him to put Favre into the game.[15] Favre’s first pass in an NFL regular season game resulted in an interception returned for a touchdown.[16] He only attempted four passes in his career at Atlanta, was intercepted twice, and completed none of them. Brett took one other snap, which resulted in a sack for an eleven yard loss.[4]

In Super Bowl XXXI, Favre completed 14 of 27 passes for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the second play of the game, Favre threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to receiver Andre Rison. Favre also completed an 81-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Freeman in the second quarter (then a Super Bowl record). Favre rushed for 12 yards and another touchdown, as the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI over the New England Patriots, 35–21. In their 19 games of the season, the Packers had a turnover ratio of plus 24, and outscored their opponents 100–48 in the playoffs.[30]

The score was 24-24 at halftime before the starters exited, Houston turnovers contributed to that score. Texans looked strong, they could go deep in the playoffs. Aints not so much.

Schaub was 15-of-18 for 194 yards and a score, made Wheeze look bad.
