Atlanta Falcons: Falcons to play on sloppy track

MIAMI — Just as the Falcons were about to take the field for warmups it started raining heavily at Sun Life Stadium.
The bowl of the stadium was evacuated because lightning.
Falcons coach Mike Smith places a premium on not suffering injuries in the exhibition season.
This game was supposed to serve as the Falcons’ dress rehearsal for the season. Smith planned to play his starters well into the third quarter.
With a soaked field, the risk for injury is increased. It will interesting to see how the Falcons approach this game.
The team has 89 players on the roster and must cut down to 75 by Monday.
After the Miami game, the Falcons will play at Jacksonville on Aug. 30 in their exhibition season finale. The roster must be trimmed to 53 by Aug. 31.
The storm eventually stopped.
Around 6:30 p.m, about an hour before the schedule kickoff, the Falcons special teams players returned to the field to start warming up.
Cornerback Christopher Owens (hamstring), cornerback Darrin Walls (right quad), safety Shann Schillinger (foot), running back Jason Snelling (lower right leg), defensive tackle Elisha Joseph (concussion), left tackle Will Svitek (upper right arm), wide receiver Kerry Meier (foot) and defensive tackle Corey Peters (foot) will not play against the Dolphins.

How did that work out for New England last yeat…..and please lets be honest and dont say you saw the Gmen making that run last year. I think the problem is that you want to be right all the time JSS and not listen to reason. Reason says you keep trying until you get it right. You are not the Falcon GM for a reason man. So please dont do as you told Another Rick in earlier post. About telling us something or something to that nature. We have seen the Falcons grow over the last 5 years if you are angry about Petrino (STILL) well then at least you mentioned it. Dont be a fan and dont come on the blogs…..its really simple……as for the rest if us we will continue to stand behind our team and believe ……..simple. we Rise Up.

No, “reason” says “observation” is different than wanting to be a GM… I can have a life and not sell my soul to the great Satan NFL… Shoot, Roger Jackson played in the NFL, scouted in the NFL, and still consults for multiple teams… He told me years ago when Dimitroff was hired what would happen… He hasn’t been wrong yet…
You refuse to see that Green Bay, the 49ers, New Orleans (love or hate ‘em), the Giants, and even Philly have reinvented themselves and their rosters twice in the time the Falcons stumbled and fumbled their way trying to get it right once… That is an indictment, not a point to support… “Higher standard” “indeed…” That is how you use a sports talk cliche…

You trying to hard JSS…..i dont even know who Roger Jackson is man…..and really dont care. The Falcons have been fine over the last five years…..yes we gave not won a playoff game but babysteps have lead to strides and the team is running now. My only point ONLY POINT is that if you dont like the team dont waste your time here man….go cheer for any of those teams you mentioned…you don’t have to have displeasure with the fans here. You have to know a real fan is going to go back and forth with you…..fan = fanatic! I dont refute anything you say it is just I dont care about those teams…I am part of the Rise Up Nation……thats all I care about…….please dont take offense.
