Atlanta Falcons: Team breaks training camp

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Falcons broke training camp following Sunday’s practice and players can return home after staying at the team’s facility since July 25. They will practice once a day through the final two exhibition games before opening the season on Sept. 9 at the Chiefs.

“I know that everybody is excited about going home and spending time with their families,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “Camp is not an easy time for players and coaches. Camp was good. Guys worked extremely hard but I’m sure they are ready to go home now.”

Stay Injury Free for the most Part, especially at linebacker and we have a great shot at the Super Bowl. I think the Falcon Players are finally hungry enough to get it done.

DLed Keep doing ya thang man. Best on the AJC, hands down.

I think the players are focused and hungry, but would’ve like to seen more out of the front office to try and address the LT and DE positions.

Do they have to leave the facility, or can they stay there if they don’t have a home yet…..You know, undrafted free agents.

: How did the Falcons get their name?
A: In August 1965, a contest was held which resulted in the nickname “Falcons.” While several contest entrants suggested the name “Falcons,” a school teacher from nearby Griffin, Miss Julia Elliott, was selected as the winner because of her reasoning for the new name: “The falcon is proud and dignified, with great courage and fight. It never drops its prey. It is deadly, and has a great sporting tradition.”

Yeah, they don’t get caught cheating either , may not win all the time, but can’t say they are low-life.

They may surprise me but I really doubt they are going to put the rookie in the #2 slot. What is up with all the Davismania? He’s a rookie and he’s no 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th round draft choice. As a matter of fact I’ll go out on a limb here and say he is no Andrew Luck.

Chris, no your not. Now quit wasting your time and get out there and throw the ball around a bit. It’s the only way to get better. When Chris Redman is better than Matt Ryan Augusta National will start admitting women to the club.

What? They did? Who? Rice and Moore? Never heard of ‘em.

Davis was backed up on a sack, 3rd and 28 and came back on 4th and 4, got a 1st down, moved down the field and scored the Falcons only other touchdown of that night…………………what did Redman and Parker do again ? Very huge difference in that rookie than the other two………..and its time to eat lunch

That’s what I’m saying but he is going to have to earn it on more than preseason performance. If they make him the #2 QB out of camp then it’s about $$$, Redman, as a back up, has been stellar!

I’ve been busy today Michael M. and the business demands more of my attention this afternoon. Maybe later tonight. But, those Colston and Henderson grabs, both came on the ensuing series after Brees got creamed. He bounced right back admirably wouldn’t you say?! As opposed to Matty after a hit like that, would have folded like a perforated sheet of postage stamps.

And hey, who saw the bulldroppings on Outside The Lines yesterday?! What a bunch of manure, using Kaare Johnson, a failed talk show host as a source, he’s not even a sports journalist, check that, he’s not even a journalist, he’s a radio talk show host, no credibility whatsoever.

Brees nursing his sore shoulder. Lofton out for the opener if not more. And he was going to key your defense? We’ll see against RG3. He said the game was easier than practice. That game will be at least.
