An MVP award for minicamp to a receiver, for catching the ball. That’s a novel idea.

Sure because your team rewards illegal bounties during the season. I think it’s about time you stop criticizing the Falcons and become a fan.

Thanks DOL, great piece on who I think is going to be a Huge Impact Player in the NFL. Julio Jones came at a steep price…But will prove to be well worth Every Draft Pick. Nice to see a class organization like the Falcons grow their Team the “Right Way”! I feel sorry for those Aints Fans trying to justify their Horrible Organization…by blogging on a competitors “Class” Blog

Awarding an MVP for a 2-1/2 day minicamp is not only superfluous, it’s dumb.

It’d be pretty funny if the award was a year of free hair cuts or something.

Thanks for the analysis DLed. Eyewitnesses have all commented how amazing Julio looked, can’t wait to see what he’s going to do this season after a true off season regimen, I wish the RG position wasn’t a battle for the second straight season but whoever wins it this time won’t be by default. Any impressions on the PR/KR position(s) after mini-camp?

Mini-camp MVP is simply a fun award to give out at the end for the young guy who looked the best.
it would not seem prudent to give it to a long time vet like Turner. Or simple give it to the QB. That’s too easy.
Julio has earned rave reviews from all who’ve seen him play. I expect a BIG season from him.

Julio Jones will be a top receiver in the league for years to come. This award is a symbol of his athleticism and talent (and for a little fun and competition). Big words SEEN for a small mind. Haha your’e not witty just foolish!

@ Heard:
Well, it seems clear to me that I wasn’t questioning Julio Jones’ ability or future potential. I was questioning the value of handing out a MVP Award for 2-1/2 days, or better put, a total of less than 8 hours of non-contact practice. So, it’s apparent that you Heard, that all words, big and small, are over your level of comprehension. I think the falcan’ts should take a cue from the Saints organization who spent their last mini-camp day hosting them as a team for a round of golf, building team chemistry, rather than singling out a single player as an MVP for mini camp.

You complainers and whiners are such idiots … any reasonably intelligent person knows that these types of activities within organizations are done purely for fun and motivation purposes which also assit in team builder effort.
