DLEd, what do you think of Drogba’s departure from Chelsea?
from ny times-”Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba ended weeks of speculation about his future on Wednesday by following his former Chelsea team mate Nicolas Anelka in making a lucrative move to big-spending Chinese Super League strugglers Shanghai Shenhua.”

they are redneck hicks up there in Dalton. Even back in the 1980’s they were backwards. Heck Douglas County Tigers whupped the Dalton Catamounts in soccer at their home stadium, in 1982, and they had to resort to fighting at the game’s end, and yup those DCHS TIGERS whupped them in fighting too. backwards, racist, and just plain stupid best describes anyone from that town.

This school is new with only about 500 in it and certainly is not the dalton catamounts. This is in the northern part of whitfield. So wipe your city sliker tears and get over it. ha all yall better not be coming or you will get a shotgun put to your head.

Dalton is a good choice.
NOTE: It is neither racist or hick… but they rarely get an opportunity to experience this kind of interaction. We shouldn’t be so quick to judge people lest we be judged someday with the same pointless antagonisms.

Dalton is chock full of bigoted individuals–but virtually every other part of the nation is, too.
Anyway, it’s going to be worse than a Michael Jackson concert when NFL teams show up here. I bet Highway 2 will be backed up to the interstate.

I grew up in Dalton and our house was, believe it or not, on the banks of Cohullia Creek. Named after the Cherokee Indian chief. The school itself is on Hwy 2–actually in the Cohutta community. I find all this interesting since I began watching the Falcons in 1966 when we lived at the house on the south bank of Cohulla Creek. And yes, Hwy 2 WILL be backed up for sure–its only a two lane hwy there, if memory serves. According to the Dalton paper this morning, Coach Smith and the Whitfield County School Supt. were both coaches at MTSU or was it ETSU?
