Dimitroff to participate in Bike to Work Day

Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff will participate in National Bike to Work Day on Friday.

Dimitroff, a cycling enthusiast, will ride about 40 miles from Buckhead to Flowery Branch.

The majority of his route will follow Buford Highway.

He will be joined by members of the Falcons front office as well as Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (ABC) board chair Atiba Mbiwan, owner of Free-Flite Bicycles Dan Thornton, ABC members and volunteers Tim Ho and Jeffrey Wisard, and ABC League Cycling instructor Neil Walker.

“Cycling has always been something that I have enjoyed,” Dimitroff said in a statement. “On Friday, I get to combine my enjoyment for cycling with my passion for the Atlanta Falcons. I am pleased to work with the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition again as we support Bike to Work Day. May is National Bike Month and I hope that everyone gets a chance at least one day this month to get out and spend some time on their bike.”

National Bike to Work Day was originated by the League of American Bicyclists in 1956 and is a part of National Bike Month, which is held every May. The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition supports the event in Atlanta and encourages people to commute to work using a bicycle.

Dimitroff has participated in a number of cycling events during his time with the Falcons, including the ABC’s 2011 BeltLine Bike Tour and the Pedal with a Purpose to benefit Georgia Cancer Foundation 100-mile ride in 2010. Through cycling, Dimitroff has made an effort to promote physical fitness, health and wellness. He has also committed to helping the ABC support a bicycle friendly Atlanta.

Good morning falcan’ts to glory. Mickey Loomis isn’t suspended yet and is presently working on frustrating Drew Brees, something the falcan’t defense had never figured out how to do.

Mickey might be able to do it in an hour, but, he also has more time to train than Dimitroff at this point…

Of course he has more time to train, he’s the GM of the Division Champs, not an also ran. The also rans (or maybe it should be: the also-pedaled) need to work harder. Which begs the question, why is Dimitriff spending 3 and 1/2 hours biking to work? Maybe he’s just avoiding going to work?

@ SeenThisB4 Yeah I expected yall swamp dwellers to be proud of cheating. Why is Mickey suspended? Dimitroff will be allowed into Falcon facilities the entire year while Mickey is at home playing Madden with Sean. lmao

The Saints wont do nuthin this year because they are a basket of eggs and the NFL was holding the basket for years and finally let it gooooooooooooooooooooo and BAM, you got a huge mess down there now in New Orleans and on the ground within the basket with a bunch of broken cracked rotten eggs !

Honestly, they will be lucky to win 8 or 9 games this coming Season and the morons that think they will be better than ever are smokin something new but you guys can smoke on this post awhile cause I know it upsets ya.

seenthisb4,

Actually, there is not a man alive, regardless of training, who can bicycle 40 miles in an hour on varied elevation terrain such as the buckhead to flowery branch commute.

I’m going to join TD for the start of the ride. I’m not capable of doing anything for 40 miles, other than riding in a car.

maybe if dummytoff would participate in “hire a new head coach day” instead , y’all may might be able to offensively score a point in a playoff game. winning one is still a couple of years down the road. thats when dummytoff will be forced to participate in “sign a new qb day”
