Who is looking good out there DOL?

D-Led – something to check into when you get a chance: is Carlton Powell really still on the roster? He ended last season on the practice squad, which made him a free agent in the offseason. There has been no record of a transaction of the team resigning him.
The team’s web site does still list him on the roster, but before Mughelli’s release, the list had 91 players – suggesting there was an error somewhere. I think Powell might be it.
Good to hear Massaquoi is dropping back down towards his Junior year playing weight. Also good to hear that the secondary guys are having a lot thrown at them – hopefully that means Nolan’s scheme is going to be more aggressive than that pillow-soft junk from VanGorder.
And best of all is the news from your other article – Matt Ryan is hitting the weights hard this offseason. If we’re going to go vertical, we need our QB to add that extra arm strength.

@Torgo, either you have arm strength or you don’t. Arm strength can’t built up with weightlifting. Our QB is good at anticipating throws. Arm Strength is overrated.

Torgo — You are correct. I saw where Powell is in Carolina for workout/tryout. Massaquoi is down under 260. Played at over 270 last season at Troy and was a little sluggish.

cb — All the draft picks are looking pretty good. Konz is going to be a load. Holmes looks good standing around. The play has been pretty spotty, but that’s to be expected. The energy is good, like Coach Smith pointed out.

D-Led – What about Casey Theriault? I really want to see the Falcons give him at least a tryout and possibly a chance to make the roster! I honestly believe the kid has paid his dues, was basically innocent in the first place, and has a ton of talent and heart! If you respond to me on this in the past, I apologize but, I could not find a response from you. Thanks for your time!

I read on blog how you want Matt Ryan to add arm strength. As Sly Ty stated. You are born with arm strength are you do not have it. If weight training was to build arm strength, ever QB in football and Pitcher in baseball would have cannons for arms. By making these statements shows your like of knowledge of throwing.
Arm strength is over rated. Russell was a first round pick and no long in football. I can name you more strong arm OB’s that has been cut out of football, than ones than have make it. Joe Montana did not have a strong arm , but was one of best QB to ever play in NFL. . I sure falcons fans remember Billy Joe Tolver. Ex falcon QB, Bobby Douglas of Bears. Each had strong arms. They couldn’t hit a barn door when they threw a pass.
Matt Ryan is a good OB. I think alot of bloggers here have just signed on falcon fan base. They do not remember the days when we had nothing for QB.
