We are in the media War Room and ready for your questions before the second day of the NFL draft starts.
FLOWERY BRANCH – Took a little time to assess the first round late last night, got a few winks, delivered a couple of lectures on the media and the justice system and then started to ponder this WWTDD question.
Given what happened in the most bizarre first round in quite a while, we have to figure out “What Will Thomas Dimitroff Do” with the 55th and 84th picks of the draft.
The first round broke beautifully for the Falcons, who have heavily scouted offensive tackles. The Falcons can practically sit back at 55 and watch as lineman slips through. Georgia’s Cordy Glenn, Stanford’s Jonathan Martin and Mississippi State’s Bobby Massie, Ohio State’s Mike Adams and Wisconsin’s Peter Konz were not selected in the first round. All were projected as potential first round picks.
The Falcons may target Adams or Martin if they are slipping and go up and get one of them. Dimitroff has made at least

Let's go eat a (blank, blank) snack!!! The media war room has some healthy snack options.
one trade in each of his past four drafts.
If the Falcons lay back at 55, California tackle Mitchell Schwartz and Midwestern State tackle/guard Amini Silatolu could still be around.
During the pre-draft process the Falcons worked out offensive tackles Schwartz, Steven Baker (East Carolina), Dennis Kelly (Purdue), Kelechi Osemele (Iowa State) and Donald Stephenson (Oklahoma).
We have a few hours until things get started. So send along your questions.

@DOB- Is it true the falcons will get a safety in 5 round, just in case thomas deccoud whiffs another season? or will they just switch dunta robinson to free safety, because we all know he is a hard hitter (ala desean jackson)?

bob from stone mountain — It’s @DOL over here. No, they are not going to draft a safety. They’ll get a veteran free agent (cap casualty).

DOL: Nice job of taking so many questions.
A lot better (and more astute) coverage this year compared to last.

Dr. Kenneth Noisewater — On your hypo: They really like Jacquizz. Turner has been awfully productive. I’d keep him around at the right price.

I guesstimate it will be just after 9:00 PM before our 55th pick. I have been drooling all week about Boykin at #55, but since the AWESOME signing of Samuels, that shouldn’t happen. Boykin would’ve been a great return man. “Coach Peyton, I dare you to kick it to me.” LOL

I want Janoris Jenkins. That guy is a stud DB, with some personal baggage, but I’d have to take a shot. Had he been a model citizen at UF, he’d have been the first CB taken this year. Too much talent to pass up on in my opinion. Go get him!!!

If the DT Worthy of Michigan State falls far enough, I can see Dimitroff making a trade for him. Impressive kid.

Zach: No need for corners now…we’re deep there.
Plus the Falcons avoid players with baggage like the Braves have done for all these years.

Birrrrrrrd Man — Just did the math with Mark Bradley. 7 minutes times 23 picks puts them at 9:39 to 9:41 p.m. My story has to be in by 10 p.m. Another fun night. His column is due at 9:45.

And I agree with that premise. A few bad seeds can ruin a lot of people’s hard work. No need for that on the Falcons.
If the Falcons were to take a developmental QB, BJ Coleman anyone? Not sure where he’s being mocked in terms of round.

If they move up too far they would probably have to give up the 3rd round pick or a pick next year. I think I would just stand pat and select the best player available.

agreed on Turner’s price DLED but Roger’s size is what questions me. Snelling is there, but I’m thinking a younger RB this year or next. Perhaps a SEC RB?? Size, Power & Speed!!
