ernisTbass– A healthy Sam Baker.

Svitek is ahead of Baker, I don’t care if he’s the healthiest guy on the team and he got Kobe Bryant plasma treatment for his back. Svitek outplayed Baker in every way last year, the only reason Baker was even out there before is justifying that pick. He was a very nice college player, his Dad is a good guy, I’m sure he’s really cool, but Sam Baker is not an NFL left tackle.

DOL: No matter how healthy he is, he’s a BUST! short-armed and gets beaten all the tim.. OH well, I just hope our wonderful OC Koeter can come up with something even though he’s NOT proven to do so…

FalconsFan4Life – Coach Smith points out that they’ve won a lot of games with Sam healthy. I’m just repeated what the Coach told us at the NFL scouting combine. Um, so don’t shoot the messenger.

All I hear on Sports radio is how this team did nothing in free agency to strengthen the club and that it is a disappointing team. But looking at the depth chart… if we can get a good O-lineman at 55, I think this is a solid A- or B+ team.

Baker Is not the answer at left tackle and Decoud Is not the answer at free safety and we need another defensive end because the missing piece was the missing piece last year.Edwards just had another knee surgery and we need more beef on the Interior defensive Line….just saying…..

Not a roster that can win SUPER BOWL with what others have and have been doing. We need a GREAT DRAFT and bargin FREE AGENTS like Sanders. I hope Lofton isn’t this years Dahl, one player we shouldn’t have let go???????

Come on DOL,

You had to know there would be an uproar the minute you typed Bakers name. My purchase of season tickets next year hinges on him NOT being in the starting lineup. You might want to let Blank and Dimitroff know that.

It’s a solid B team no doubt David, but it’s also a team that has been non competitive in the playoffs too.

They aren’t awful by any means, they just aren’t remotely good enough on the line of scrimmage on either side.

OL is a serious concern. DL and DE players are adequate……..the problem is that the OL and DL positions are CRITICAL to wins & losses.

We are definitely good enough to be considered a probable playoff team; however, we need better OL players and improved production from the DL/DE players to make a deep run in the playoffs!

Coach up everybody (especially Dunta Robinson). Draft a CB to play nickle this season and eventually develop into a starter, draft a RB to replace Turner (sooner rather than later), and then draft based on best available player. Late free agent acquisitions: Sign best available proven veteran LT and then bring in one additional OT and one additional OG to create as much comprtition as possible on the OL.

Give Matt Ryan more time to set, read and throw (along with a good/great running game) and he will set the league on fire!!!!!!

Jason Snelling as a back up fullback? If that is the case make him a Fullback, and release Ovie. We need $$$

CAPT-ATL

I like Ovie, but he will be traded or released. The Falcons signed Mike Cox to a 2 year deal last year and he is less costly than Ovie. Not sure how Cox doesnt make DOL’s depth chart since he is under contract and on the Falcons depth chart.

I agree with you–Mike Cox does a good job–liked ovie but age and injuries catching up for a tough position– use the money on O-line and a big tough hitting safety to rack those receivers [including tight ends] as long as the NFL doesn’t keep babying the receivers and keeping the defense from HITTING them the way they have been and will always be trained–this is a game of HITTING

The OL/QB suck… defense OK….

Apparently drafting OT high, good!
Not extending Ryan good sign, put up or shut up…
Get young talent in pipeline…DB, LB, TE

Lofton hurts, Tatupu cant stay healthy…

Weems did more than run back kicks. He was solid in all kick coverage teams as well… But the Bears learned their lesson of having exposed Harris constantly in the kicking game…

DOL, do you think Coach Mularkey would have any interest in acquiring Sam Baker? He knows his game and I am assuming would be available. Additionally, are there any players interested in traveling South to join the Jaguars? It would give me an idea what sort of regard Mularkey was held in by Falcon personnel.

DOL, I got you my dude… I’m just so CYNICAL of this team! They have my heart and that what hurts… Born and bred Georgian and a Falcon fan since I was in Pampers… Blank gave us some hope for a brighter future, but I just expect better out of the team each year… I just don’t know how this 10-year season ticket holder and the majority of the other fans in this town “call it right” on player selections, play calls, decisions, etc better than the “experts” (i.e. Mike Smith, Thomas Dimitroff, Gnapp, Marlarkey, VanGorder, etc…)… I am happy about Nolan being here. But to me, this is the absolute LAST year for Dimitroff, Smith, and Ryan… No excuses this upcoming year… Anything LESS than an NFC Championship BERTH and they are failures and we need to move on!

Devin Hester NOT Devon Harris!

There is no Harris on the Bears.

Also to the idiots suggesting Blank get rid of Dimitroff, Mike Smith or Ryan… Well, I just said it. Idiots.

Teams consistently in the playoffs, often don’t go all the way (11 of 12) but teams in the playoffs have a shot. Teams not in the playoffs don’t.

I think we all agree on Baker. Is his dad still the AFL commish? If so, I have to think its the only logical reason Baker’s still here. (Blank owns the Force…coincident perhaps?lol) For all the applause TD has gotten, I think he’s done a subpar job with the line. Who builds outside in? That has been one of the biggest elephants in the room for a while. We all know the line of scrimmage and control thereof is a huge element to the game. For all the talent he has acquired, its just a little beyond me how a football guy with so much scouting experience has done so little with the line.

Atlanta I hope figures out a way to bring in a Red Bryant Dt, Demetrius Bell Ot, Khail Barnes OT, Pat Sims DT, Kendall Langford DE, or Raheem Brock DE. Two of these guys would really help !!!

Keeping Sam Baker at LT is really a stretch after seeing him get beat continously last year and Matt Ryan running for his Life!

Atlanta must do something in free agency or they are one and done again and the fans will be fed up and Mr. Blank will see a half full or less stadium at times next season!

It’s frustrating to see a owner get his fans so fired up about changes and then look around and see all the teams in the NFC South adding quality free agents by the numbers and Atlanta only adding two?

We can write or express opinouns on this web and show our frustrations but I don’t think it really matters to them. Oh well, it felt good to get it off my chest anyway. Good Luck Falcons!!!

Have they consider moving sam baker to a guard or a center since he gets beat on the edge and he has small arms try him inside and see how that works out
