Hey DOL, there is a report over on SB Nation that the Falcons have hired Joe Danna as their DB coach. Is this true? Not True? I really don’t give a flip about Mike Shanahan talking. I would prefer to know who our new DB and OL coach are going to be. C’MON MAN!

Why the draft counts:
The Atlanta Falcons didn’t have a first-round pick in 2006. They traded it to the New York Jets for defensive end John Abraham, who has had a very productive run in Atlanta. But the Jets turned that pick into tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson. Had the Falcons landed Ferguson in 2006, they never would have drafted Sam Baker in 2008.

I tweeted the Joe Danna hiring last night. Just drove back from Mobile and finished two stories. We’ll post once it’s properly sourced.

It’s not official yet. But Nolan let the cat out of the bag in Mobile. He told one of the Miami guys about Joe Danna coming back to Atlanta.

I don’t like Shanahan.I’ll never forget the footage of the 98 Superbowl where He and John Elway we’re on the sidelines making fun of the Falcons. Screw him !

Hey, I agree with Preston Thompson it looks a lot like the ‘Good ol’ Boy’ network has struck again. I am disappointed at the GM in not pursuing the ‘Best’ coach available whether he be in the college or professional ranks. What it seems that we are hiring is a bunch of ‘Retreads’ from losing organizations. How are you going to coach a team to become a winner when you just came from coaching a losing team???????
