Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was added to the NFC Pro Bowl team today, according to the NFL.

White will replace Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who is unable to participate due to injury.

White finished the season with 100 catches for 1,296 yards and eight touchdowns.

He finished second in the NFL, and led the NFC in receptions for the second straight season.

He became just the eighth player in NFL history to record five consecutive seasons with at least 80 catches and 1,000 yards.

This year marks his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection as he made the NFC squad in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He joins tight end Tony Gonzalez as Falcons who will represent the club in Hawaii on January 29, 2012.

It’s okay to stroke your ego however you seem fit. Jealous? You make yourself sound like a child.
I come to the AJC blogs to read about Falcon football and news, and not to read about jerks talking bad about Falcon players.

I am all up for the division rivalry between the Saints and Falcons. At the end of the day, I respect Drew Brees and his accomplishments. Wouldn’t be a rivalry if he wasn’t as good as he is.

With that being said, we question who actually is the bitter one.

The more difficult the catch the better chance Roddy will make it. Unfortunately, he doesn’t do too well with easy catches.

Roddy is a great receiver and he make mistakes like we all do but no one can question his desire and heart too win games. The effort on the field game in and game out. We all are tried on the first round playoff loses but we need too point the blame at Coach Smith. Smith knew that MM & BVG were not a fit in the first place. The reason the falcons was so up and down because they did not agree with either one of them game plans. Smith should had saw this situation in his players instead he found fault with other things. Mr. Blank means business and many coaches and plays will LEAVE GA BY TRADE, RELEASE AND SIMPLY NOT RESIGNING THEM. No stone will go under turned in GA

I hope the falcons don’t steal Coach Grantham from Georgia. Atlanta is a clueless organization that will most likely never win another playoff game. Georgia will be playing for a BCS Championship next year. You saw it here first.

DOL I’ll even let you take credit for this prediction next year.

Now, maybe we can get a new OC who will implement a scheme that will allow Ryan to hit some receivers that will be wide open. Too many of our receivers had to make stressful receptions. Take it from me it is much easier to catch when your routes are not 90% timing, and more vertical. Too many of Roddys, Julios, and Tony’s catches were highly stressful catches. Take a look at NO offense and see how their receivers seem to be wide open when they catch the ball.

This team might have a face in MAtty Ice, but thsiteam has no respect or heart…
They need a couple of players who have nothing to lose and will kick some A$$…
These guys are too nice…We need a couple players who commit personal fouls just because theyy can..Jerome Harrison type….

Is it just my computer playing tricks on me, or does the caption of the above photo say it’s a photo of “Carolina Panthers’ DeAngelo Williams (34) runs for a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons during the second quarter of an NFL football game in Charlotte, N.C., Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011.” I could swear that’s a picture of Roddy catching, yes…actually catching, a football?

Apparently leading the nfl in dropped passes and penalties(ok maybe not penalties) gurantees you a spot in the pro bowl. Unbelievable!!!! He is one of the reasons why the Falcons season is over!!!!!!

I use to like him but now I’m done with him. I can’t believe there’s no talk about the ‘pure punk’ act he pulled late in the game. After an incompletion, he walked up behind a Giant player and purposly bumped him with his body and helmet. When the player turned and started pushing with him , Roddy took a swing. No class all the way.
Send the punk somewhere else.

@ get real. Didn’t know about the bumping and swinging incident at the end of the game. I couldn’t watch any more of the game and went to the lake with the dogs. What bothers me the most about Roddy this year is his propensity to do stupid “stuff” early in the game resulting in 15 yard PF penalties. Most of these were unnecessary and were just him “bowing up” to the other players. It became a trend that I didn’t think Mike Smith would put up with. But, just like the personal celebrations this year after players made a sack or a good play, this became the norm. I used to brag that the Falcons were not like the other teams in that they were a team and not a bunch of prima donas. Can’t say that anymore. They now act like all the other teams…make a good play…run to the middle of the field and thump your chest.
Depressing!
