FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons receiver Roddy White, who led the league last season with 115 catches, is closing in on the century mark.

White has 96 catches for 1,227 yards and is closing in on his second consecutive 100-catch season.

Rookie wide receiver Julio Jones, who has five 100-yard receiving games, needs 117 yards to give the Falcons two 1,000-yard receivers.

White is a first alternate for the Pro Bowl.

And remember all of the talk about when Roddy held out for his new contract, some of you were saying he wasn’t worth the money. Congrads Roddy and let’s get a playoff win!

If Roddy gets his 4 catches, and Julio has the bigger day, we have two receivers go for over 1,000 yards receiving, and one of them having 100 plus catches back to back years. And they say Matt Ryan can’t throw. You don’t get two 1,000 yard receivers checking down.

Saints beat the Falcons last week and Saint Troll bloggers think with that win they have already crowned their team the New Super Bowl Champions and it hasn’t even got started yet….what a bunch of idiots..stay at the number 3 spot boys and we keep number 6 spot and lets have another game in the playoffs,if Falcons can’t beat you doubt they beat any other playoff team.

Who knows they may come to play football next time and actually have a real game to watch….the one that counts.

True as that is.that cold, damp outdoor weather conditions makes it extremely tough on the opposition to concentrate on the game especially any Dome Team, the Giants could handle the cold wether for they use to it but lack the team to beat the Pac.

Any stats on closing in on his career drops?

Do you think athletes such as Roddy White pay much attention to these sort of things? Do you think he is even aware that he leads the league in dropped passes this year – according to Pat Y blog on ESPN.

Did anyone pay attention to the fact that Mike Smith was interviewed regarding the Falcons regression in the running game? Well, Mike mentioned that he is going to perform a running game check to see what the problem is. Duh, we all tried to tell you that Mike, weeks and weeks ago. Ironically, the Falcons running game regressed at Tampa Bay with a loss where M. Turner had about 20 yards total. Since then, the Falcons running attack has withered. This key component of the Falcons game was not addressed until this week. Surely, someone has to notice that. Running the football was supposed to the Falcons bread and butter-as well as, stopping the run-of which-at this time, they cannot do either, up to this point. The Falcons need to put their running game under a microscope. I don’t know if they can fix it, but time is running out. They better get it fixed and show some signs on Sunday.

Without drops, he would already be over 100 catches. Nice guy and good player but must focus 100% of the time and not let his emotions get the best of him for the teams sake.

Yep. If not for leading the league with 12 drops (many of them in big game changing situations) he’d already have it but congrats anyway. Still hard to do in this league. Hope Jones does have a monster game and hits 1000…
Also guys you act as if the lions are a shoe in to lose tomorrow. It all depends on what happens by the time we play. I must say though that I hope Matt Flynn plays his best football then.lol I’d LOVE to watch the birds against the giants and then possibly 49ers versus playing the saints for the third time. Good thing is that we’ll know by the time we play. I’ll be watching the Packers Lions game closely.

I see Michael M. and SeenThisBFalcon are still holding out hope. Now those two are true Falcon Fans….gotta love it.

@Michael M…Saints fans are very confident in the Saints making it to the SB. We are well aware anything can happen (no we haven’t forgotten about Seattle), but to us, it really doesn’t matter who our boys play first….Falcons, Lions, 49ers…doesn’t matter one bit because we know for sure our boys can beat any of them. Will they…well, that remains to be seen, but I’d put my money on the Saints before any one of those teams.

As far as going to Green Bay, well, who says Green Bay will win their divisional round play in the first place? And if they do, it will be 10 below 0 for A Rodgers and the Packers, just like would for Drew Brees and the Saints. Saints can and will beat the Packers should they meet in the NFC Championship game at Lambeau.

And who knows, we might just be playing the Giants at the MB Super Dome for the NFC Champ game…..

Time will tell….Good luck to your dirty birds because they are going to need it.

P.S….they should have kept their mouths shut about the Saints running up the score, because next time it wouldn’t surprise me if the Saints hang 50+ on your buzzards.

WHO DAT!
