Curtis Lofton fined $15,000 for hit on Colston

FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons middle linebacker Curtis Lofton was fined by the league for a hit on New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston on Friday.
Lofton was penalized on the second-quarter play for unnecessary roughness. Colston was deemed a defenseless player.
Lofton leads the team with 153 tackles, according to coaches’ film review stats.

Right now, nobody wants to play the Saints. Personally, yes I think the Saints CAN beat falca n’ts four straight times. I prefer to play them in the wildcard round if we don’t get the 2 seed. The Saints have proven that the falcan n’ts cannot mount a successful pass rush on Brees, they have proven that they can’t dominate the time of possession, can’t score at will on our defense. So, yes of the two wildcard teams, I’d rather the Saints play the team they have amply demonstrated they can chew up and spit out. Your team, the falcan n’ts will just be a tune up game for the divisional round game against the 49ers.

Trap game my azz! The falca n’ts don’t want any more of the Saints, that’s blatently obvious. Calling it a trap game is by default admitting that your team is not suppose to win, which clearly indicates an admission of inferiority. Lofton clearly deserved that fine, and he got off light. Colston didn’t even have both feet planted on the ground yet when Lofton blatently drove the crown of his helmet into Colston’s headgear. He should have been suspended for at least a game, if not for the rest of the year…dirty ba$t@&)!

The saints and falcons rivalry,reminds me of the Georgia – Floriday rivalry. Georgia couldn’t beat Florida with Tim Tebo,and the Falcons can’t beat the saints with Dree Brees.Saints have beaten the falcons 10 out of last 12.sounds more like dominance than rivalry,and its not likely to change anytime soon!

Guess illegal spear in back of a defenseless Falcon was completely overlooked! If the NFL wants to play by these rules then come out into the open. Tell teams which play the Saints, Packers, Steelers and (fill in blank) that all the officiating calls are going to go against them. What can coaches do? No doubt, saints player hit our TE in the back which you would think is a defense less player hit. he was not looking at all. Falcons NEVER get the calls by refs and alot of these calls I think affect some of the out comes of our games.
