We had 10 days to prepare and what did we come up with? Field goals, field goals and more dang field goals. Can’t stop a cold on third down and soft zone crap all nite. A few plays mixed in were decent but we need more than a few. And how about a pass rush. Alright saints fans lets here it.

Ryan became just the second quarterback in franchise history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season after posting a career-high with 373 passing yards. This season, Ryan has thrown for 4,065 yards, which trails QB Jeff George’s club record of 4,143 yards, set in 1995, by just 78 yards. Ryan, also tied his career highs with 32 completions and 52 pass attempts, and finished the game with a 92.9 passer rating.
The third-year signal caller has completed 339 of 557 pass attempts this season and is on pace to break his franchise records of 357 completions and 571 attempts set in 2010.
Ryan has thrown for 300-or-more yards in six games this season breaking George’s team record of four 300 yard games in 1995.
December 27th, 20119:55 pm
This should give BVG a chance to rethink on how to defend the NO offense. If he fails again and gets beat, then FIRE him!
December 27th, 20119:59 pm
George only needed 557 attempts… He did it with only 332 completions… The Nut Case had a cannon!
December 27th, 201110:02 pm
Ryan your great man from the 20 to the 20! Crickets……..
December 27th, 201110:04 pm
What does MR Blank have to say about this ish?
Would somebody get an interview with the “Man”?
Allright give out a box of tissues cry me a river a Mississippi River. Instead of just Manning Up and saying you got beat. Now the excuses New Orleans Plays Dirty! the Head Coach and invisible player who doesn’t want to state their quotes of running up the score this is footbowl a mans sports so man-up 4quartes remember that maybe that why you lost. I am so proud of Sean Payton the mans! man for allowing Breese to Get his record under his Dome with his fans at home thank you Santa. This is how team when they wear a Super Bowl Ring.
December 28th, 20112:57 am
Yes, our streets smell like sewage, yes, our coach looks like he’s pursing his lips ready for lipstick, yes, we are drunk 24/7 and live off FEMA, and yes, WE HAVE NO CLASS. Even I’m embarrased about how Brees got his record with a classless drive like that. But we’re used to be jerks, and still don’t see a problem with it. I am still wearing a bag on my head. We may have won the game, but we’re losers for the cheap way we handled the last 3 minutes. Classless.
December 28th, 20117:34 am
These blogs are sickening. NO Was beating the Falcoms before the last of the game. No glad of the outcome, but glad Brees got the record. He deserved it, and the team deserved this win. They EARNED it. All this junk talking from Atlanta about Birds coaches, and players. 3 playoff appearences in four years, a better coaching staff than we’ve ever had, an dyou people are trashing them. I guess we need to go back to 7 win seasons to validate your puke? Grow up people. This is football. You folks can’t even be good fans. If we can’t win it all, then our NFC South bretheren should, and I hope they do beat Green Bay. And I didn’t hear anyone talk much about Green Bay handing us our hats? What’s up with that?
December 28th, 20118:19 am
DLED, looks like you were having a good time at the OMEGA PSI PHI events as well! All of your videos show up. Looks like more fun than speaking to Matty ICE…..I’m sure you wanted to be with everyone else talking to Drew.
Laughing Out Loud
December 28th, 20119:51 am
@ A Fan. You’re right. This is football. Some one gets beat. Falcons got their collective asses beat like a drum. But, hey, it’s a better football team than we have known in a long time. There is possibility. We have hope. Management is committed to winning and will continue working to bring us the best. The trash talk from NO fans as well as Falcon fans is sick, straight out of the garbage dump. Makes me gag. Play football!
December 28th, 201110:05 am
That last drive was not classless and Matt Ryan would’ve done the same thing if it were him. Falcons fans r just jealous. Like your own coach said, play defense!
December 28th, 201110:53 am
Falcons should have punted on fourth down if they didn’t want to be scored on again……….the Saints ran Thomas on second down, if he get three more yards, Brees doesn’t break the record …this is a media ploy to make news by saying Brees and the Saints did something wrong by scoring.
December 28th, 201110:57 am
Or the Falcons simply did not want the record broken on them in which case it was THEIR responsibilty to stop Brees from throwing for 307+ in the game, which does include the first half when he it them up like a Christmas tree.
December 28th, 201111:01 am
As a Savannah native and UGA graduate living in the greater NO metropolitan area, living here is tough as a football fan, but other than being obnoxious, rabid fans, the people here are great (much like the folks in GA). So please, Coach Smith – when we play them in the playoiffs at least make it so I can hold my head up. The last score is embarrassing
December 28th, 201111:05 am
classless is what R white does when things dont go his was….He cries
December 28th, 201111:13 am
I’d like to see Mike Smith turn Ryan loose just once to see what happens. Maybe it would be 16 INT’s. But the intensity and aggressiveness of Drew Brees was obviously way over the top compared to Mattie Ice. He went after it on every play and it showed.
December 28th, 201111:24 am
Matt Ryan is a good QB but he is on the second string backup level . Mike Smith is a good coach but he is not Head coach quality . Smith would make someone a good defensive coach .This team will never make it to the next level with Smith at the helm .
December 28th, 201111:47 am
If only the Falcons had a pass rush. The fact that they don’t exposes the weaknesses in their defense. As for NO running up the score, that’s what they did. Was it for a worthy cause? Well, it’s not like it was Brees’ last chance this season. But we still had football players on the field, at least I think those were football players, and they’re paid to defend against the pass.
December 28th, 201111:59 am
redweather, did the Falcons not run up the score on the helpless Jaguars? Quit crying………
December 28th, 201112:12 pm
phantom9277–If you will take a look at the box score for that game, you will see that the Falcons scored no points in the fourth quarter. You will also see that Redmon replaced Ryan at quarterback. Big difference.
December 28th, 201112:41 pm
Hey, if your defense couldn’t stop him based on their athletic ability, skill, motivation, etc. why not take the offsides penalty to spoil the yardage Brees could have gotten on the pass? Sounds like they didn’t want to stop him! You can’t lose an game and then cry about it. I bet you can’t find a clip or interview of a Saints player or coach crying about a loss. They admit where they screwed up, work to fix it, and move on to the next one. But, according to the “anonymous player” the Failcons will still be thinking about that game. I promise you, Saints and their fans don’t think about the Failcons that much.
December 28th, 201112:48 pm
Well redweather, the real difference is that the Saints are breaking NFL records and Falcons no absolutely nothing about that, much less how they would handle the situation. Why didn’t Smitty punt? Dumb to complain when smitty hadn’t quit playing……….
December 28th, 20111:14 pm
phantom9277–And what was that point you were trying to make about the Jacksonville game?
December 28th, 20111:44 pm
redweather-the point is that the Saints really chapped your butts and we’re luvin’ every minute of it. Keep crying/hoping for a rematch in a couple of weeks. We’ll be glad to host once again.
December 28th, 20112:07 pm
I remember last year when the Falcons won in the dome and Sean Payton told Mike Smith that that was a good win for his team and Roddy White took offense at that………seems as though there is alot that Thug White and Falcon fan don’t get.
December 28th, 20112:46 pm
Up 34-0 midway through the third was being challenged enough for Matty to drop another 7 on the Jags?
December 28th, 20113:34 pm
Steve Bartkowski will always be our QB.
December 28th, 20115:49 pm
Why does Smitty and Ryans sound like in every interview like they are trying the kiss the team that just beat them there butt. Man he should be mad as hell abou losing and not telling us how great Brees is TIME TO MAN UP AND GET SOME FIRE IN YOUR BELLY
December 28th, 20116:08 pm
A new year is upon us. As much as I have hate for the falcons,(due to the rivalry), I’m committing 2012 to sticking to football ONLY. No more negative comments about the falcons, and my third favorite city (Atlanta). It’s my third favorite city to my home town new orleans and a close second to another place I love visiting, new york city. So with that said, I wish the falcons fans a happy and prosperous new year.
Falcons > Everyone
December 29th, 20116:26 pm
Tough to go up there to the podium and keep it classy when you just lost to your biggest rival in grand fashion. But that’s why I like Matt and Smitty. They brush it off and go back to business. I feel bad for Tampa Bay, because they will catch the brunt of the frustrating moments from the last game. Hopefully referee Jeff Triplette will stay in New Orleans one more week.
December 29th, 20116:31 pm
Please don’t complain about New Orleans throwing the ball with less than three minutes to go, up by 3+ touchdowns. If that record and that moment means that much to them, let them have it, but please make sure you send a message in the form of a late-hit, 15-yard personal foul. It was clear to me once Pierre Thomas pulled the bow from his alleged junk that they thought the penalty wouldn’t hurt them and New Orleans would roll, which they did in the end. They were out to embarrass us on national TV, and they somewhat accomplished that. But playoff time is payback time, and there’s a couple of teams that we owe dearly.
up jumped the devil
December 29th, 20119:53 pm
@ Falcons> Everyone…..But playoff time is payback time, and there’s a couple of teams that we owe dearly.
In the words of a loser: you owe everyone dearly. Not smart to give a late hit 15 yard er for revenge
