you know, I have no idea if NO even has a newspaper..and I certainly don’t spend my time blowing in and writing Falcons mess on Saint stories. It never ceases to amaze me the Saint fans are so interested in the Falcons. They are obsessed with Atlanta. I truly couldn’t care less about the Saints. I just don’t know why Saint fans aren’t the same about the Falcons?…it amazes me…they just aren’t happy unless they are over here where they truly are not welcome…please, for the sake of your team, they truly want and deserve your support. Please find a Saint blog or something and go comment on it…oh, and careful the door doesn’t hit you on the way out.

All I have to say about the Saints fans here in Atlanta talking smack….Your Coach Sean Peyton doesn’t even live in the state let alone the city. There is a reason you aren’t there as well. New Orleans is a cesspool with no redeeming qualities outside of the food. Go Falcons!

5150 – What is the point you’re making about the NBA? Football has always had more fighting than the NBA. But obviously, not nearly as much as hockey. I have an idea what point you’re trying to make, but it fails on all counts if I’m right. Hockey is the thug sport, not football or the NBA. Hockey is famous more for fighting than for skating… even off the court hockey players are the worst of the major sports as far as fighting and thuggery.

Way to make the title misleading. You accomplished your goal of getting a hit from me. “Meier’s injury is serious,” yeah that’s why he’s not on IR yet. When can we get a competent beat writer?

@kris g well in that case you’d have to say that boxing and ufc have more fighting than football or hockey…… it is a mute point best to ignore those who try to pull logic out of their backside

From Urban Dictionary…………….

Geaux:

A sound made to distinguish an awkward or inappropriate comment/moment.

A more extreme version of “yikes”.

Originates from the season 4 episode “Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Jr. High” of Family Guy.

Example 1:

Fish 1: You know what I hate? A guy in a blue suit.
Fish 2: Geaux!
Fish 3: Ssssss, there’s one right behind me, isn’t there?

Example 2:

Guy: I’m not sure, but I think I might be gay.
Others: Geaux!

Kris G basketball is a NONcontact Sport and has a good deal of fights. Football has way fewer fights than Basketball considered all the contact. Football is a violent sport during the actual play. Most times after the play a fight doesn’t happen. College football is getting like the NBA in that the TRASH TALKING is what is causing too many fights not the actual physical play. NHL Hockey allows fighting or haven’t you noticed.

This blog makes for some great reading…Failcants…Aints…I liked the statement about the Falcon fans leaving in the 4th quarter when the game isn’t in doubt anymore, might as well beat the traffic. I also like the statement about the paper bags that the Saints fans wore. I bet a lot of the Saints fans mothers were wearing bags on thier heads when their children were concieved.

Green Bay Packers will beat the Pulp out of da Bears tonight like as Atlanta will need any help MNF going against the Saints….anyway it will just seal the deal tonight and put Atlanta in the playoffs but The Birds should clearly make a statement to the Saints in New Orleans that we for real and take no prisoners………………………………………heyyyyy, I just saw who hiramsaint and seenthisB4 remind me of……….they are the ” Wet Bandits ” on ” Home Alone” .

Spoken like someone who gets all their NBA information from Rush Limbaugh.

Tell Shaq that basketball is not a contact sport. Tell Sean Avery that trash talking is limited to the NBA.

There is very little fighting in the NBA and what little fighting there is can barely be called fighting compared to what happens in hockey or even bench-clearing brawls in baseball.

Friendly word of advice: when you know absolutely nothing about a subject, refrain from forming opinions about it.

You falcant fans make no sense at all. How can food be good coming out of a cesspool??? Admit it. First of all New Orleans, whether you like it or not is a world-class city. Second of all, our team has had a visit with the Vince Lombardi trophy. For falcant fans, it is only a dream that you wont see in your lifetime.

Najeh Davenpoop basketball is considered a non-contact sport. Fighting has been a part of Hockey forever at the NHL level. When do the benched clear in baseball? When the Pitcher attempts to Make CONTACT with a batter using the baseball.

Michael M it was from the College Bowl Football game last night when the players got in to a fight to end the half. A punk WR scored a TD and stood over the DB and then got in his ear running his mouth. So very close to punches were thrown. Too many PUNKS are being allowed to go to college to play a sport.

Oh and by the way whodat70816…………I do like your QB as long as he is not playing our Football Team but when he does I don’t care what they do to him …………………………….but between Breezy and air-head Rodgers, Breeze gets my pick because Rodgers thinks he is the greatest thing since the invention of the football and I can’t stand the guy and the way he things he is top of the talent !

Unfortunately the Urban Dictionary knows nothing of Louisiana Culture. “Geaux” in Louisiana is just a way of saying “go”. The “eaux” is pronounced like a long “O” sound in french and is very much a part of Louisiana Cajun culture. There are a lot of jokes about “Boudreaux” and there are names like “Thibodeaux” and “Gautreaux” that are well known stereotypes of Cajuns. So in Louisiana, we like to play with that “eaux” ending in words and syllables that end with a long “O” sound.

lets talk about fighting in sports. for the MOST part, 2 hockey players square off, the other players watch, they don’t intervene. Watch a fight break out in any other sport and see what happens.
