Are the New Orleans Saints a ‘Dirty’ football team?

FLOWERY BRANCH – After their last two games, the Saints have been accused of “dirty” play.

After their win over Minnesota, Adrian Peterson, who was returning from high ankle sprain, questioned cornerback’s Jabari Greer’s tackling methods, which included a twist of his ankle while at the bottom of a pile.

“I came into the game kind of expecting that coming back from a high ankle sprain,” Peterson said. “Guys are going to try to take their shots when we’re on the pile and try to twist it up and things like that.

“I felt like it kind of got overboard. I got up and kind of got in his face. Thank God I was able to keep my composure.”

In the previous game, Tennessee wide receiver Nate Washington accused safety Roman Harper of being a dirty player. Harper was also called for a personal foul for a hit on Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder.

The Falcons seem to believe the Saints aren’t dirty.

“I think they’re just physical,” Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said. “They play to the whistle and they play hard. That’s what makes it fun playing against them. You know you’re going to get their best effort and they’re going to play physical and so are we.”

Safety Thomas DeCoud agreed with Ryan.

“Not really, I view them as a team that plays hard,” DeCoud said. “They are prideful. They want to come out and compete and win each game. [Linebacker Jonathan] Vilma leads those guys by example. He goes out and plays hard each snap. It’s just kind of the leaders taking ownership of the game and guys following suit.”

Yep! They are! They’re dirty just like their septic tank city. But that’s ok. We can get dirty to. Our O-line won’t put up with that!

they are dirty, but nothing worse than that cess pool of a town, they call a city. It’s all good, there is no team in the NFL we can’t physically play with. We will beat up on them as much as they beat up on us. Falcons in the upset. I hate the aints.

Twas the nite before Christmas and all thru the house,

not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse,

Falcon’s stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hope that Santy would fill them with Wins carefully prepared.

all of a sudden, with noise and a clatter,

here come’s hiramsaint,

on Atlanta Sports blog posting comments that don’t matter,

meanwhile Santa is busy with his bag,

what you know its SeenthisB4,

Early Christmas morning, everyone is asleep,

all is quiet on the Falcons blog,

as sweet as little bo peep !

Merry Christmas everybody, its been fun Posting on here this year and we all had fun !

5150 & Ben….Just we have come to expect from Intelligence Challenged fans of the Falcants.

Bring some extra money to the game Monday night and just maybe you could pay one of the Saints players to kiss his Super Bowl ring… Closest Atlanta fans will ever get to one as long as Mikey is the coach. He will never be able to win the big ones.

Dear 5150 TOAD… It is a shame you feel that way about our wonderful city. We would welcome you and your family to visit the historic French Quarter for our world famous cuisine. All we ask in return is Leave your Daughter and get the hell out of our city before you bring property values down in the worst parts left from Katrina.

Michael M…. I thought there was one with common sense among you. Think about it Mike… Before the game starts the Saints coaches get with the players and tell them” Now during the game when you hear the ‘unofficial” whistle, don’t stop playing. That is just for the other team.” I know most whistles are in the key of E.. the unofficial whistle is in F so you can tell the difference.” Think about it Mike.. some ideas are plain stupid and belong in 5150’s comment.

Since it’s Christmas, I’m going to be nice and say let the best team win. After all, we did lose to the worst team in football this year, and we lost to the first team in NFL history to make the playoffs with a losing record last year. I will say that this hot streak you think your on has been against nobodies, but we will see Monday night.

Tevon…. I have read some dumb-ass posts before but you are the new King of Dumb.

Just because a city rallies together and pulls for its team does not mean we worship them as Gods. You have not been there, never Lived there and will probably never get out of Mableton.

I can respect HIRAMSAINT for that comment. Let the best team win. Stats, wins, and past games are out the window. The Falcons are gonna come to play, and the Saints will too because this is a rivalry game and the division crown is on the line. Our offense is as dangerous as N.O. offense. Anything can happen, and it won’t be a blowout!

Regardless of the outcome of the football game Monday night, we are the privileged ones to live in Atlanta versus that stump water, reptile poop, pervasive reservoir of stench below sea level and downstream from the Louisiana pig farmers.
