FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons are getting second-year cornerback Dominique Franks ready for nickel back action against the Saints because Kelvin Hayden (dislocated toe) was not cleared to return to Thursday’s practice.

While Hayden (dislocated toe) did not practice, he spent time working out with the trainers. Running back Michael Turner (groin) and linebacker Stephen Nicholas (toe) did not practice.

Veterans John Abraham, Todd McClure and Tony Gonzalez were rested and held out of practice.

Running back Jason Snelling missed practice in a non-injury related matter.

Cornerback Brent Grimes (knee), tackle Will Svitek (groin), wide receiver Harry Douglas (groin), line backer Curtis Lofton (ankle) and defensive tackle Corey Peters (knee) were limited in practice.

Franks has started at left cornerback for the past three games. In nickel situations, he’s went inside to play the slot. He faced rookie quarterbacks T.J. Yates, Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert. This will be his first major action against one of the league’s elite quarterbacks in Drew Brees.

“Dominique has progressed every week,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “Dominique played a lot of nickel for us in the preseason and has not had a whole lot of experience in the regular season.”

We have to rise up here Falcons! All three commentators on Inside the NFL just picked the Saints to win – so let’s prove them wrong and avenge the defeat earlier this year!

One overtime win seperate both teams from being 10-4 so you are so superior. As for the Wildcard, I would hardly call that a dseperate situation. It is almost clinched. Besides if I were you I would be praying that you can avoid a first round game against Seattle. We all know how that turns out. LOL

Are you really trying to compare the Super Bowl champion Packers with the worst team to ever make the playoffs? The Packers seed was directly due to a rash of injuries, the Seahawks were 7-9 – LOL. You have gone off the deep end. The Saints are clearly a very good team but why are their fans a bunch a low rent assclowns?

@hiramsaint – They all pick the Falcons over Saints when we played them at home.

That being said- I’d exchange a Saints victory for the New Orleans government officials to take back all the thugs and hoodlum rats that has transferred from that arm-pit of a city.

Just remember what goes around comes around hiram’s ant. You saint fans all know good and well there is an asterik by your team’s championship title.
* Given because of the tragedy (yes tragedy because that was sad and transcends any football GAME) because we knew they would never win it any way else. We figured it would help revitalize the city and give them hope.

Does new orleans garbage papers have a blog? didnt think so..thats why the likes of you, BlindthinkingIsee, and Joe Smells like Fish House are constantly on ours. Also not having much of a life probably plays a role for you guys. Should be a good game Monday night. Probably the crown jewel of your lives.

One Super Bowl victory (two years ago now) does not erase 46 years of futility. It’s like taking a chubby person to a salad bar once; they may be eating healthy, but they’re still fat.

Atlanta is getting healthy at the right time. Grimes will be back, Abraham says he’s feeling as good as ever, and Julio remembers how the first game ended for him. This game is for the NFC South title. We lose one of the next two, and the other team takes the crown. We win, we defend it again next week vs. Tampa and hope for some help from Carolina (remember how that went during Week 17 in 2008 – not well). We can entertain the bandwagon trolls and engage in banter with them, but at the end of the day they’re just the chubby kid at the salad bar.

What about the asterik next to the Falcons only SuperBowl apperance.

*Given to the team due to the fact that the league was not ready for the first African American coach in the Superbowl. (Dennis Green).

*SF RB Garrison Hearst was hurt in 2nd round game.
All that and you still got steamrolled in the Superbowl

The Saints beat Warner, Favre, and Manning to WIN the Superbowl, not to mention beating Brady, and Eli on the way during the regular season. (You don’t see TJ Yates on this list) lol

Also, I wouldn’t brag on the Atlanta School System!! Saints by 10!!!

Falcons<Everyone,

The Saints 46 years of futility and 1 superbowl win IS better than the Falcons 46 years of futility. Trust me my friend, I understand why you and your fellow Falcon "fans" hate us so much. No matter what this organization does from here on. The FACT remains that the Saints WON a Superbowl before the Falcons. Live with it!!!! Talking bad about the city or the people of New Orleans WILL NOT change that FACT!!

Remeber that A** whupin you got on that firescape. Your Saints are going to take one just like that this Monday night.

Dennis Green – get real – he was who we thought he was.

The Saints had a very good team in 2008 but it was flawed by a weak defense just like this edition. A fortunate knack for getting turnovers saved that group. This team will not be that lucky.

And just like Marshawn Lynch running over Saints – I’m Gone
