The Falcons are probably planning to trade Wilson, with all the QB’s in the league coming down with injuries and the ineffective play of others, there seems to be a market for young QB talent. Could sure use some more draft choices in the upcoming draft. I doubt he will ever play for the Falcons.

Matt — Not sure. Don’t think so. Perhaps after the season.

Good move, keeping our guys in-house. We should have done the same with Dmitri Nance last year. Hope Powell clears waivers and makes it onto the practice squad.

Frazier needs to man up… Ponder and Wilson? That sounds like the stupidity that got Brian Billick run out of Baltimore… Leslie, don’t let Musgrave get you fired!!!

Well hopefully we’ll be able to get something for him if he’s trade bait. If I recall we signed him as an undrafted rookie FA. If we can get a 5 or above, that’s a good move for us. Most likely I assume we’re just grooming him and plan to have him move into Matty’s back up in the next year or so and put Redman out to pasture or trade him, he’s been solid in the action he saw in 2009.

@ Rikus…I don’t think they want Nance. He’s a free agent now and they had a chance to pick him up. I forgot who they chose instead, I think a back-up o-lineman that’s no longer on the squad

Is Chris Redman retiring next year? If so we definitely don’t need to let go of JPW…we need at least one more QB here who knows our offensive system in case Ryan goes down. If Redman is no longer with the team next year they need to either 1 draft another developmental QB or get an established quality backup QB. As evident by the misfortunes of Houston and or Chicago…you are 1 snap away from having your season ruined if Matt Ryan goes down!

Why? Beside being a prototype physical quarterback in teams of height, weight, (should, I say hair & eye color) and great college record, this guy is developmental at best, not roster spot worthy.
He can not play special teams, and how many clip board holders do you need ?

I hope JPW is trade bait for next season. We can’t afford to lose him now.
What we need in the back up role to MR2 is a dual threat QB. A change of pace passer/runner who will give DCs another element to prepare for.
Dimitroff, Smitty and Mularkey are you feeling me man?
