FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons running back Michael Turner (groin) and wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) returned to practice and were limited participants Friday.

Falcons quarterback John Parker Wilson was signed to the active roster today after the Minnesota Vikings tried to snatch him off the practice squad. Curtis Compton/CCompton@ajc.com
Both, who had not practiced this week, were listed as questionable on the team’s official injury report for Sunday’s 1 p.m. game against the Houston Texans.
Also, starting strongside linebacker Stephen Nicholas (thigh) did not practice and was listed as doubtful along with cornerback Kelvin Hayden. Mike Peterson will take his spot in the lineup if he can’t play.
Cornerback Brent Grimes (knee surgery) was officially declared out of the game.
ROSTER MOVE: The Falcons released defensive tackle Carlton Powell and added quarterback John Parker Wilson to the active roster on Friday.

Toughest game of the Season coming up Sunday in Texas. Falcons will have the largest test of the year…they win the game Sunday rest of regular season should be moderate except the Saints Contest. Lets all hope they can escape Texas with a win and only slight injury at the most to players.
Fingers crossed, the brew and wine is ready ! Lets win it Falcons ! You are in charge of your own destiny !

A win Sunday for Atlanta will come down to OL protecting Ryan to give him time to pass and work his magic and the DL getting after Tj making him have to throw quickly. Atlanta needs to run that no-huddle throughout the game to keep their defense( Texans) off key. They rock in that no-huddle as for what makes it work, no idea, other than they rally around Ryan and he must see things none else sees. The guy is really amazing in that no-huddle, its like a completely different football team on the field. They need Michael Turner in this game badly so maybe he will be ready to go on Sunday.
If the Atlanta D puts some heat on Tj, he may get rattled and make some mistakes considering this is a bigtime football game for him. With the Atlanta secondary shaken up with injuries the front seven will really have to step it up for a change. Probably the hardest game so far this year for them this Sunday. They have got to blitz some to get after the young Texas QB .

Also, the key is to make three and outs for the Texan offense, so their defense is constantly on the field. I do not care how good your defense is; if you’re on the field the whole time, eventually you’ll tire.
To be honest with you. I am excited to see more touches with Quizz. I’d love to see what that kid is really made of. So, if Turner needs to sit out more plays, I don’t mind at all.

Did Julio Jones spend this much time on the sidelines at Alabama? Hope this doesn’t become the tale of his career.

I guess you could start Turner and if you get a good lead, Jaquizz and Snelling can add punch to the running game. You can also use the short pass to combat their pass rush- if the O line can’t keep Ryan upright. Similar to the strategy last week against the Vikings. The Falcons should sign Abraham to a two year contract and let Kroy Bierman go, if they feel Sidbury is going to be productive going forward. My bold prediction is the Falcons secondary will look totally different next year.

Its a cool beautiful Saturday morning here in the mountains drinking a hot cup of coffee and sitting by the wood stove and I think I’ll make a call on that Sunday Game with the Texans……………………………………………………………..Atlanta 26——Houston 17.
Two touches and about 4 field goals should do it !

Hopefully with Turner being a little banged up, Quizz will get more touches like we’ve all been screaming for. He is our Sproles. The sooner we start using him that way, the better. I thought that was why we drafted him. The guy can play, and he will help us if he’s ever given an opportunity.

That little guy is a good set-up man when the Falcons are backed up with a penalty and 3rd and long and need a first down, he’s done it before and he may do it again in Sunday’s Battle.
I am fishing here and not getting any bites. lmao

Amazing video of a high school senior from Columbia TN who kicks the ball dead straight 75-80 yards in the air. He was successful on 54 of 54 attempts this season….100%. Now he needs a college team. Willing to walk on at Georgia Tech if they will jst ask him.
Watch for yourself…it is unreal!

If ANYone wants J. Puker let them have his arse. I find the whole, “I’m so special I have to be called by three names,” crap to be way beyond annoying. And sports announcers who go along with this stupid crap to be just as guilty and stupid sounding. They are the same ones who will call Ted Turner Stadium, “The Ted” (an unoriginal insipid idea that copies “The Jake.”) Morons, like the proverbial birds, do flock together.
