If Peterson doesn’t play we can plug holes with linebackers to help Owens (dread).

And Ledbetter that means sprain, general looseness, or something worst?

This just in……Christopher Owens stinks. Whenever there is a long completed pass against the Falcons, especially touchdown pass, watch the replay for #21 trailing about 10-15 yards behind the play. It’s so pathetic, it’s almost comical. But really there’s nothing funny about watching every freaking team we play exploit our obvious “weak link” time after time after time. And yet, he still keeps on playing. I really don’t blame him any more. He’s proven beyond any doubt whatsoever that he just can not play. Gotta start blaming Smitty and BVG for not doing SOMETHING, ANYTHING…….just keep him off the dang field!!!

Put Franks in for Owens. He cannot be any worse. Good to have Moore back in the lineup. We can use his physicality out there. DeCoud is a weak link as well. We need to draft a safety or sign one out of FA to replace DeCoud. He stinks. Owens and DeCoud are the ones who need to go back there. I hope Grimes is able to go. Good to hear Julio is going to be back, but the thing is, can he stay there? Guess we’ll have to see. Baker needs to stay on the bench. Ryan hasn’t been going down at all. Probably good to have Baker out….ok that’s all.

You know what’s funny to me? Aints fans come on here to troll, but no one goes trolling on their blogs. Know why? Because no one cares about the Aints.

Hamstring garbage? Yeah I guess anyone who ever pulls a hamstring is a flawed athlete. I only wish you Saints fans would stick around to eat crow when Julio becomes the top receiver in the league (give it 2-3 years). Sadly, by then you’ll be too morose to post, pining after your formerly-NO saints.

Agreed Franks can’t POSSIBLY be worse than Owens; give him a shot. He’s looked pretty good on punt returns as well. Jones should sit ’till the hammy is 100%.

They need to let Jones have off another week or two and save him for the last few games and hopefully playoffs ? Later……………………..

I would let Julio sit out another game. Whenever he does come back don’t forcw the ball to him. Continue to let Turner be the focal point of the offense. Please don’t let Owens see the field and Decoud definitely should not be are free safety next year.

I’m happy Julio is healthy enough to play but would rather rest him than open the possibility of re-tweaking his hammy. Roddy seemed to return to form last week and I would rather have the kid healthy for the stretch run of the season. I hope Grimey and Moore can play or The Vikings can possibly pull out a win with Owens starting.

Isn’t Musgrave on the Vikings staff? He has to know some of Matt Ryan’s tendencies with the football. I hope they get it all cleaned up before Sunday.

There is no reason to rush Jones back, so rest him. Losing Grimes is always a big…hope he can go. Not sure we want to see a banged up Sam Baker up against Jared Allen?

Nobis Knuckle Sandwich, Stick to football- whatever Musgrave has done, only God can judge him. I hope the Falcons can get a big lead early and prove to the fans they have some killer instinct.

I’m still not convinced our DB’s are the full problem. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE can cover that long in the NFL. They need some help with pass rush and blitzes that move the QB or get him down. Even when we do blitz, the blitz gets picked up by a guard or back and if our guy gets through he misses. No joking. Then the QB hits the receiver because NO ONE can cover that long in the NFL or for that matter at any level.
I think its up to the DC to make those adjustments to help your DB’s by taking pressure off of them. Plus we always run a zone and rarely man to man. Man to man and an all out blitz now and then couldn’t hurt. Dudes are catching the ball anyway. Might as well try.
Just don’t blame our DB’s. I think they are doing ok for the scheme and the lack of pressure to help them. Football is the ultimate team game.

Glad to have Julio back. I really hope he can get that hammy under control. He is a force to be reckoned with for sure. I hope to see more QB pressure and a return to red zone dominance. Our guys will be hard for anyone to beat if they take that step this week. Go Falcons!

Mitch, please try to observe the game. With Hayden in the game our D is dominating and suffocating. With Owens our D gives up every single 3rd play and more. I have watched this disaster unfold over the last two years. OWENS STINKS!!!! Hayden is good. It is real that simple. Sure, we are not perfect with Hayden but BVG defense is a bend but don’t break style that requires good corner play. Give Franks a chance, he could not be any worse on 3rd down then Owens. I agree with “Kurtis” just get Owens off the field at all cost..

Scheme, shmeme. You put Owens in a defensive backfield with the best front four in football and he still gets SMOKED. Dude can’t cover his mouth. Yes, I have my issues with BVG and his playcalling, but Owens just flat out stinks up the place. And DeCoud made a few plays back in 2009 and hasn’t shown up since. I guess he read the papers and believed how great everyone was saying he was. He don’t start on at least 20 other NFL teams. Think about it. At least our other DB’s bring something to the party. Moore is a thumper, Dunta CAN cover, he might slip and fall and let someone run by him every now and then, but he can play. And what can we say about Grimes………he’s just a baller.

Amazing video of a high school senior from Columbia TN who kicks the ball dead straight 75-80 yards in the air. He was successful on 54 of 54 attempts this season….100%. Now he needs a college team.

Watch for yourself…it is unreal!

Ahh, another fine day in New Orleans, and as I survey the NFL landscape, what do I see?

I see milomana posting like a bonfide idiot.

What else is on that NFL horizon?: Ay yes! Two New Orleans Saints games, on National broadcasts! Nothing like making our final push to the playoffs before our country’s eyes!

The Saints! Still at their rightful place, atop of the NFC South, in complete domination of their divisional rivals.

Life is good!!!

True FALCON FANS can see that Chris Owens is AWFUL! PLEASE do not put him back on the field! I agree with EVERY comment on here about him. If he doesn’t play we win convincingly. If BVG starts him, we will be on the edge of our seats, pissed and holding our breath on 3rd down. PLEASE DON’T DO IT BVG! Let CO play special teams ONLY!

SeenthisB4, the Aint’s SB win was ages ago, and they are not the same team they were in 09. Besides that 09 season (which was a gift) what else have they done that makes them soooo much better than the Falcons…………NOTHING! Not a damn thing. So please stop acting like the Saints are someone they are not. They are a pretty good team and nothing more.

Julio Jones . . . hope he’s DOUBTFUL for the rest of the season. WE R UNDEFEATED when he does NOT PLAY & 3 – 4 when he does.

Total Bust (Only 2 TDs & 30 grabs through 10 games, the TDs came against a team that’s TRYING TO LOSE an many games as possible), – too many drops on catchable balls already & way too many injuries – trade him while he still has some value Tom Dimit . . . PLEASE!!!

With Hayden out one would think it would be Owens who gets the start. Nut after checking the depth chart it seems that Franks has passed Owens. Franks is now second string beside Hayden and Owens has dropped to third. Just FYI http://www.atlantafalcons.com/depth-chart/

If he pans out, it’s not a bad deal, if he doesn’t, that’s a different thing but trade him NOW while he still has value is one of the stupidest things I’ve read here in a long time. Really?
