First?
If there was no faith in the defense, they would not have done the onside kick.
The fourth down call was the CORRECT call. If you are a running team and that’s where you earn your keep. Your team has to expect to get less than a yard!

Penalties and poor red zone execution lost that game. Not the fourth down call. Proud of the decision not proud of the execution or outcome. Time to move on!

It is so time to move on. What happened to the 24 hour rule?

Look we got a lot of winnable games coming up and if we don’t get caught up in last weeks ….(whatever you wanna call it)….we can still win this division.

Playoffs? Did you say playoffs?

Okay, let’s see! Ryan goes into the no huddle and drives his team to two scores late in the game to tie. In the overtime you say Mularkey running the offense again and the Falcons could not move the ball. Is anyone getting this!!?? If the Falcons have any chance of winning enough games to make the playoffs (either 12 or possibly 11), Smith needs to grow a couple and give Ryan the reins for the rest of the year. Let Mularkey work with Ryan to set up the offensive strategy before the game, then Ryan and throw that out and take what the defense gives him. Otherwise look for 8-8 or 9-7.

No way the Flacons make the palyoffs withthe retraded play calling by the caoching staff and the fist round draft busts they have.

Falcon in DC (rupe) – you are wrong!

That 4th down call was not the right call – not even close!

For one thing, the exact same play had already been run on a 4th down. After the time-out was called, you have to call some other play. They got their big-run defense package in, totally expected and were prepared for the play, and either gambled or guessed or knew the snap count on the play, totally blowing it up.

At the least an attempt to draw them off should have happened, as they were jumping the snap.

Or run a quick-sneak like Brady does, but I don’t think Matt could have got that either, against that front.
The right play was to fake that dive up the middle and pitch to Rodgers around the outside. Probably would have gone for a TD, as the whole defense was geared up to stop what you call ‘the right play’

For me personally this is one more reason why Mularkey is a lead-weight around this team. When Matt calls the plays, we caught up 10 points in 5 minutes, then we go back to Smith/Mularkey calling the plays, we lose.

Saw Jones is having worries with the hamstring again, sit him on the bench and let him heal up. We going to need him worse in the last two games of the Season, Saints and Tampa Bay.
Harry Douglas is a game changer. Mike Cox will get even better.
Roddy White ? ? ? ? ? ? ” Come onnnnn Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Hammies take months to heal up especially for speedsters!

He’ll just have to play hurt for the rest of the season….Or just take the next 4-5 games off and try it again….

Eastside

November 15th, 2011
11:52 am

“If we had a top tier QB all of our WR’s would do well. We have plenty of offense of power but our QB is only average. His inability to look defenders off and throw a accurate deep ball is really hurting our Falcons. Our OC is worse then our QB. With this QB we need more of a west coast offense. Since he can’t throw the deep ball accurate and sub par protection. Great job HD hope they resign u and bring someone in to make Ryan focus.”

@Eastside, that is why I don’t have much hope for this team if they even make the playoffs..

Ryan will get exposed and the game will be over before halftime.. Theses playoffs teams are really good and know how to take advantage of many weakness…This QB has got them and cant be hidden once the running game is shut down..Plus this coaching staff is not very good @ strategy, see botched calls in this past Sunday’s game against the Saints!

Someone asked ” How come they didn’t use Harry earlier in the Game ? ” and someone answered and said ” They didn’t know he was going to blow up the Saints with the big pass catches. “

Mr. Blank shooting Blanks!

The Falcons are an 8th seed, outside looking in as of today!

This franchise has gone in the wrong direction Coach Clean Shot…Ya thinks?

Give Mr. Blank more excuses, he’ll except them from you….

The bad call was letting Julio come back too soon. If the Falcons are going to go to the playoffs it starts with a win over Chris Johnson and the Tennesse Titans. Get to six and four and then I’ll have a little fan faith.

People what we have to see is that anyone who keeps saying the 4th down call was the right
one aren’t Falcons fans. The call lost us the game so it couldn’t be the right call.
Those who say it is just don’t get that it’s about winning, not showing who has the biggest one.

I got to say that was the ‘Most Guts ” Call I ever saw in the NFL, I think even the Saints were shocked !
Maybe with the Coach going for it now We will see a new Atlanta Falcon Football Product on the Field Starting this Sunday and they will win out the rest of the Season and get to the playoffs. Thinking they got to go 12-4 to get a shot at it this year with the NFC North remaining Strong for wildcard.

Does Smith work for the Saints or the Falcons?

One thing is sure Atlanta has no options left but to play lights out football, score as many points possible, make fieldgoals be touchdowns in the red zone, eliminate stupid penalties, turn it loose on opposition’s QB,eliminate the interceptions and don’t drop the football running it .

5-3 first half. We lost the first game of the season and recovered.
This is one loss (0-1 second half start) against a team we will play again. A 5-3 second half can get a playoff berth.
A 6-2 second half can possibly win this division.
BTW, Falcons are only 1 game back in the loss column. So just match the Aints win for win along with beating them in the next game we play them later in the season and Falcons got it covered.

I have to admit Atlanta has completely turned it around from the start of the Season…., now…, if they can turn around some of that dumb play calls to go with the other…who is to say what they might wind up winning this Year.
