LSU-Alabama trash talk hits Falcons locker room

The hype surrounding Saturday’s college football showdown between No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama made its way into the Falcons locker room.

Center Todd McClure (LSU) and quarterback John Parker Wilson (Alabama) stood toe-to-toe Wednesday defending their alma maters.

“We can pick any 22 guys to go out and play against this Alabama team, it doesn’t matter,” McClure said. “They could put all the names in a hat, draw out 11 and throw them on the field.”

Parker Wilson predicted a double-digit win by host Alabama. McClure predicted a seven-point LSU win.

“It’s going to be a close game,” McClure said. “We are going to leave your fans in there for awhile so they can buy some more popcorn and Cokes.

Friendly wagers will be made although the details have yet to be finalized. Wide receiver Julio Jones (Alabama) said he is “taking all bets.”

The players will miss most of the 8 p.m. start in team meetings in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Colts. They hope to catch the final quarter.

“Take note that nearly every pass by Ryan where the WR is running towards the goal line is horribly overthrown — often by 10 yards or more. In other words, we cannot complete certain explosive pass plays because Ryan rarely makes those throws even playable. So it is no surprise that receiver production is about equal to last year. The shot plays have no chance for success given Ryan’s demonstrated inaccuracy.

When will Ryan make fly pattern throws playable? Everyone keep your eye on this.”

Well said @ Birdy.. But you must realize the Fal-con Know it all Fanatic’s have no clue about this huge weakness in Ryan’s arm…They are clueless and refuse to see that this dude is not Championship/SB material….

Give em about 4 years to see the light………lol

Why do we need to know what Falcons players are arguing about in the locker room. Just produce wins and have good chemistry in the locker room.

DOL, can we not talk about the Falcons Colts on this blog? Nice little side story to talk about the wagers but not everyone who follows the NFL cares about Alabama LSU. Give me some Falcons info, it is Wednesday afterall. Any updates on Julio being ready to go? Where is Baker (although him sitting is not the end of the world!)? Any thoughts on the game plan without Ovie in there to road graze? More screens possible?? Come on anything related to the game they play on Sunday?

Alabama will take the early lead, but the Tigers will real them back in and win it late.

The team with the least amount of turnovers will win this one.

“I hope Matt gets his act together next week. MR was terrible vs Lions. Maybe his worst game ever, imo. I think he threw one good pass the whole game.(the one right after he came back from injury). I dunno if it’s married life, bad off season, new QB coach or whatever MR is definetly regressing.
I am not a Ryan hater. I am a Falcon lover. after 3 yrs MR = great lockeroom/PR guy, great film room/scheme guy, good tough guy/field General but he is not consistently accurate… so he is a popular Smart durable QB that can’t throw consistently. 5 outta 6 ain’t bad. But, throwing accurately consistently is kinda important when comes to QB’s. I am just hoping it’s something simple like being a newlywed and He fixes it. I want him to be great and he ain’t there yet. C’mon Matt you can do eet!”

Hey @ Mack same results coming just hang in there….

Tell Governor Deal he can start his crackdown on illegal gambling right there in the Falcons locker room. Jones the ringleader of it all. Listen, I dunno who’s gona win that game. Whoever does is this year’s national champion. No doubt about it. I’m just interested to see who my Dawgs are going to play in the SEC Championship this year. Hope this doesn’t make the Falcons’ players take their eye of the ball for Sunday.

Bama will show the nation who should have been ranked #1 all season, Alabama. Did you see what they did to the Arkansas QB. OUCH!!! Florida gained 15 yards rushing for the whole game when they were averaging 248. They look like a pro team playing little league boys. I won’t be able to watch when they play my Dawgs in the SEC championship game.

CGD – You are right about Ryan’s inaccuracies. Maybe we get up by 21 points and we work on that long pass a few times this weekend. Would be nice to se Ryan throw a bomb in bounds and not short or long. He will get it eventually. He is too good not to.
