Dunta Robinson pleased with fine reduction

Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson was notified last Friday by the league that his fine for a hit on wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was reduced from $40,000 to $25,000, according to his agent Jason Chayut.

“He is pleased with the reduction,” Chayut said on Monday.

Robinson was originally fined $40,000 for striking Maclin with his helmet. He appealed the decision. The play occurred in the Falcons’ 35-31 win over the Eagles on Sept. 18.

Robinson also had a fine reduced from $50,000 to $25,000 last season for hit on Philadelphia’s DeSean Jackson.

Just had to do it. Great win Sunday, I hope Ryan is fine it looked pretty ugly at the time. If we can stay focused and take care of Indy, and play a hard fought game and win against the saints we could be in a position to win the NFC South. Tampa I think is in a lot of trouble, and is just me but it seems the saints always has a home game. There schedule seems a little bit easier than ours from my observation.

Les Low, it ALWAYS seems the Aints get preferential treatment on their home games. The tough teams always go to NO and they travel on the road for the patsies. That’s the one BIGGEST factor in their superbowl run (I still vomit at saying that).

Maaan, what about our Pro Bowl Corner ‘Optimus’ Grimes…let’s talk about how he has been playing well and not racking up fines…shoot, if he didn’t drop that easy pick in the endzone yesterday, Deion might have nicknamed name him ‘Pay Da Man 2011′ on Gamday Final, LOL

What’s that, about a nickel out of HIS pocket compared to normal society?
Of course he’s OK with it.

It was cool to see how into it Dunta was when Quizz made that 1st down at the end. Dunta was leaping into the air in excitement. That’s a good sign.

These fines are a joke anyways….the NFL gets the initial media spotlight of announcing a huge fine (to show their muscle). They might as well announce the fine as $1 million….and then it’s always reduced to something minimal.
The 25k fine for an athlete is like fining a guy that makes 50k a year $10. Pocket change.
Probably not happy about it, but meaningless overall.

He should not have been fined in the first place, that was a clean hit.

‘I Wonder’ – with it being an off week Falcons might not have to report injuries until next Wed so expect a lot of vague responses from Smitty & Co. HOWEVER, check out Ovie’s twitter feed. He seems to think it’s not serious and will be back “soon”. I hope that means the bye week is enough rest.

another confirmation its Optimus Grimes!!
He got gut, period! Not in stomach but…you know what I mean. He’s knee high to a bullfrog and plays with the best of them. If he was 6′2”, he’d be a morphed version of B. Jordan and D. Sanders. Yeah that’s a stretch but hey give the man credit!

The Falcons are 38-18 under this regime! So why does it feel empty???

Maybe cause Flaco only cost the Ravens 30 mil(42mil less than Ryan) and hes already won 4 playoffs games.Been too a Championship too? I’m just asking?

CGD……He also has had a pretty good D to bail him out, But not to worry, our D is starting to jell a little bit and the offense is gonna be just a little bit better when Julio returns…..Gonna be an interesting second “half” to the season so lets just see how it plays out!!!

Im beginning to see a lot of fines and suspensions get reduced after the commissioner knew he didn’t use the same force on coaches like he do the players.Talking about unfair!!!! FIRE the commissioner! somethings wrong with that picture.

Yeah, Flacco may have cost 42 million less but he is the lone player holding that team away from a championship. Like OHIODirtyBird said, now the defense for Atlanta is starting to play better, watch out. Go Falcons!!!!!
