The Falcons will have defensive end John Abraham, the second active sack leader in the NFL, against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. today at the Georgia Dome.

Abraham, who’s battling through a groin injury, missed last week’s game against Green Bay.  He was limited in practice on Friday and was given a 50-50 chance to play against the Panthers.

Abraham, coming off an All-Pro season, is tied with defensive end Lawrence Sidbury for the team lead in sacks with two.

Also, the offensive line is at full strength. Center Todd McClure (knee) and guard Garrett Reynolds (ankle) are active for the game.

Wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) and cornerback Christopher Owens (concussion) will not play against the Panthers. Safety James Sanders (hamstring) was also declared inactive. Wide receiver Harry Douglas (11 catches for 80 yards) will replace Jones in the starting lineup.

The remaining inactives are cornerback Darrin Walls, center/guard Brett Romberg, defensive tackle Carlton Powell and defensive end Cliff Matthews.

Atlanta D will keep Cam under 250 yards, force 2 INTs, and the final score will be 27-14.

I’d rather have Romberg start than Reynolds, much less be inactive.

What secondary has Ron been watching? I see they are wearing dead buzzards helmets and unis again… Have fun with that… You might win this one but it is going to be bare knuckles!

Reynolds is doing just fine hawesg, we don’t want Romberg out there. With that said, sure wish we still had Dahl’s nastiness out there. You wanna scapegoat for the line play look no farther than LT Baker. And again, don’t rush it Owens

@Ron you were almost right I think he had 237, 3INT, and 0 TD. He had a rushing TD though.

Dahl is playing on a winless team, so I’m not sure he’s our answer. Plus I like Reynolds!!!!!! It’s Baker that needs to man up.
