FLOWERY BRANCH – They may have changed the name of the stadium by picking up a new sponsorship deal, but Seattle’s CenturyLink Stadium is still notoriously loud.

“Seattle’s atmosphere is very unique,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “Even though it’s an outdoor stadium, the way that it’s designed, makes it the loudest in the league. Their fans up there are great in terms of knowing when to cheer and when not to cheer.”

The Falcons will have a silent communication system ready and the offense will practice with extra loud crowd noise blaring form speakers.

The Falcons will fly to Seattle after practice on Friday. Normally, the team doesn’t leave until Saturday for a Sunday away game.

D Led,
Seattle may struggle on offense but the defense is a lot more solid than they get credit for. This isnt gonna be an easy one. I cant speak for anyone else but to me personally there is a weird air about out team thus far this year. I dont know if it’s coaching, affects from the lockout, or what but they dont look and feel right from top to bottom and something needs to change and quickly if this team really wants to make a run. I think by mid-season we’ll definitely know what kind of team we really have. Pretenders or contenders.

The Team has lost the fight in them they had last year…oh yes they are a few trying to win out there but alot of them are not even trying…….you could see it out there on the field in the Tampa Game !

Keep hearing…we going to get it fixed……………………baloney…..if that was the case, would we not be hearing something positive about what was wrong and what adjustments were made to get it corrected ?
This Team has The Pac coming up, New Orleans coming up, The Panthers coming at em,Detroit coming up…….Come on Mannnnnnn ! Get Real…..this team way they have played this year , their chances against those teams are slim !

The Falcons better get a win, and not look forward to Green Bay. Go back to the basics and run Michael Turner and Jaquizz Rodgers. Play action to the recievers. Look for Tony g and Harry Douglas in the middle of the field. A couple of screen plays won’t hurt either.

If they keep half-aXX playing like they have this year , they will be lucky to win 5 ballgames out of 16 and they already gambled away the draft next year on Jones…so they have no other option but…..to get off those butts and play to win !

This team does not look confidant at all out there, and why oh why do Mike Mularkey and Van Gorder continue to get a pass. Their arses should be on the line for the way this team has looked on both sides of the ball. When will Smith put his foot down?????

The Falcons have enough talent on the team to be an elite team. Their problem is the OC and the DC.

The Falcons are not playing PHYSICAL football and really haven’t been since at least the middle of last season. That was the basis of their success in 08 and until they get that back we’ll see more of the half-hearted ho-hum play. They look like zombies out there.

If the team does not get it together, then I agree that MM and BVG should be moved. The one thing I don’t get is why we are sticking with Bosher. He is not getting the kicks in the end zone and not punting well. Watched him at the U and he wasn’t anything special. There must be someone out there who could do better.

They just not putting a real effort in it like last year..all you have to do is remember how they played in the Bucs Game last Sunday……the Coaches are too nice…..you got to light a fire under their you know whats and then you will see a difference in how they play !

For real, KIR, he must be hittin someone in the front office or something. How is this guy in the NFL??? He’s the only kicker who can’t force a touchback. That in itself tells you the sorry state of this coaching staff. Why has something not been done???

However maybe they’re keeping Bosher for his tackling. LOL. Against Tampa he made a good tackle on the kick returner on special teams, better than most of the guys on defense.

Cant go tossing players because they are not any better ones out there than ones they have. Besides the other Teams have already picked up what was the best of the Lot out there.
You got to Coach those players, Day in and Day out and get it in their minds that they can win this week and the next and the following .

Mr. Ledbetter can you please tell me why the Falcons don’t use screen plays? Is it that MM dosen’t know how to install them or what. Even if you say Mike Turner is not a catching back, why not use the shifty Mr. J Rodgers. Most team that are geting beat by an agressive pass rush uses screens to slow them down. Now we are getting killed by pass rushes and i’m not seeing any commitment to use screens or draw plays with our newly aquired speed back Mr Rodgers. Just asking…….

looking at the numbers.. Seattle has a stout defense and like us they also have a weak offensive line. It is imperative that we shore up our offensive line so Matt Ryan can do what we all know he can do! Defense needs to provide pressure from the end spot and the guards need to clog up the middle.. if we do this this will help our lackluster secondary to actually guard against the pass! Let’s go Falcons.. Wake UP!!

This is not only a must win game, the Falcons must fix the O-Line, the lack of tackling, the poor punts and kickoffs, the poor QB play, defensive play calling, the offense playing calling, soft defensive zones, the numerous penalties, the turnovers and the coaching staff. This will be a busy week for the Falcons.

Is there really a battle of philosophies in flowery branch? GM vs coaches, or head coach vs the coordinators? You’ve got players singing the praises of the no huddle, and yet, still have run first pass last mentality in a league where the last two super bowl winners threw the ball all over the field. I would imagine the atmosphere is a bit “uptight” as out ex-punter said.

I watched the Pats/dolphins game and they were playing rookie LT who ate cameron wakes lunch all night long could we be so lucky to find a stout LT because sam baker isn’t it. He is pitiful and I doubt he could do and better at any other position. I have faith in my team and I will NEVER jump off the wagon. It seems like we have taken a giant step backwards and all the other teams even the Panthers a looking better thatn we are right now.

If the Falcons lose to Seattle and it’s over!!!!!!

I hope we win 9-0 and Mularkey IS FINALLY canned as OC..

We have way too many weapons to be firing blanks. The OL is playing just awful but honestly we then need to adjust our blocking assignments and maybe have ollie help baker out on the blind side as Sam is getting tossed around like a rag doll out there.

Let’s be honest with our O line and defense we are going to get wacked by N.O. (x2), Green Bay, Houston and Detroit. We already have lost 2 games and to make it worst they were NFC teams. So the max number of wins we’ll have in January with 7 losses is 9. That will not get you in the playoffs………

The problem is simple. It starts from the top. Any true falcons fan knows that we are too nice of an organization. We have good character players and coaches who are too nice to make any kind of changes. We as fans know that MM and BVG should have been canned after last season but we have a tendency to hold on to players/personnel for a year too long. Unfortunately, it will take us missing the playoffs and losing 9 games in order for us to “FIX” the problems. The only difference from the game that was played in Tampa this past Sunday and last year is that we lost. They played the same way. The reason why we continue to look so bad when we lose a game is because the organization is terrified of any kind of change. From the personnel to the schemes to the play calling. We run the same plays no matter who we are facing, and until that CHANGES we will always look like this. Tell me, when was the last time, we truly blew a good/decent team away?? Its not gonna happen. Our D will always be average and until MM leaves, this is what we are stuck with. AND IF I SEEM PISSED OFF… ITS BECAUSE I AM!!
