FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons center Todd McClure had right knee surgery today and may miss the season opener. Coach Mike Smith said surgery was a “minor procedure.”
McClure has started 166 of the last 168 games at center, including a streak of 144 starts heading into the 2011 season.
“We will make a determination [if he can play in the season-opener] as we get closer to it next week,” Smith said. “The first few days, as I understand it, will be very critical in terms of when he can come back.”

Jay Cutler takes the snap from Garza, 4 step drop, he’s got all daaaay long, he throws deeeeeep to Hester…TOUCHDOWN! Eighty Yards and Dunta Robinson just got left behind!!! And just like that, the bears take a 6 nothing lead on atlanta, with 14:50 left in the first Qtr.
stb, can’t wait to see your witty repartee, after the Packers serve up the ain’ts

WRONG – the play was called back for holding our DE. That is the only way Cutler will have all day to throw against our D-line.
