I think with Dunta being out, we should get a good look at the guys in a position battle for the nickle… should be fun to watch

The fact that D. Robinson has a hamstring tweak means that we’re going to see Owens and Franks as starting corners. This should encourage TD to go out and get a veteran guy in camp to compete. There is no way this team wins in the playoffs w/either one of those two guys as your starting corner.

D-Led; any news of the Falcons scouting potential cuts, etc.?

Saw it now. Where’s the bowtie, DLed? The top button stays unbuttoned, unless you’re wearing a tie…

@TheEndzoneAnalyist – Other teams won’t have to make significant cuts for another two weeks or so. There won’t be many veterans available to bring in until then… be patient!

LOL… I laughed at the top button thing too. You looked like a kid pretending to be his daddy. I miss the bow tie

Well. between having to cover one of the starting WR this week and playing against the Steelers who have very good WR next week, we should get a good look at those guys. It should be a good test to see if they are progressing or not.

D-Led, If practices and 1st preseason whatdoyahave against fish are any indication, I believe our defense is going to be much improved and more aggressive. Basing on first 2 deep.
Even without much different personnel last year. The additions of some free agents and certain players finally becoming healthy, have seemed to energize this unit. There also might be a no-name or two out of camp that surprises us and the league. Obviously a better rush will help our db’s, which have been shaky in past.
Coach Brian Van Gorder is such a damn good DC that he will get the best out of what he has….and if the Falcons ever decide to get serious about getting defensive talent, he will bring the Falcons a #1 defense.
I wish he was back at UGA coaching defense. Falcons are lucky to have him.

DLed sounds like a really intense Bill Cosby.

In any event, I don’t hate Owens as much as everyone else does. But the fact that everyone hates him so much is starting to make me worry. Everyone gets beat, guys. You can’t just look at that one TD against the Fins and say he had an awful game. You gotta watch some of those other plays where he’s all over a dude and that’s why the ball never came his way. And about that TD, he had a safety over the top who was out of position. He also peeked into the backfield, which is a mental error, and mental errors can be fixed. You can start worrying when he can’t run with receivers, but right now I don’t think that’s the case.

Owens problem has never been ability. It is mental with that guy. He has all the tools. He just doesn’t seem to able to put them together. I do agree that the safety is to blame for the blown coverage as well. I want to say that was Bush playing safety, but I am not sure.

This last 2 preseason games and the first couple of games of the reguler season are goin 2 show how the back-end of the D is really goin 2 play. Just chill out and stop freakin out over this “O we in trouble, we gonna get our a** handed 2 us” come on na these past 3 years didnt teach yall anything We in here period belive in your team trust they goin 2 do whatever it takes 2 win and relax and watch this birdz fly high and destroy this dudz who dare line up against us.

Don’t feed, Falcon King says….. “Oh Ye of little faith”….. did you not witness this team win 13 games last year. Did you not see them have a winning record in each of the past 3 seasons? Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in the strengths of this team. They will prevail and decimate all opponents.

Hmm… Is there a good reason why the Falcons got Edwards so cheap? Is he damaged goods?

Thought the videos were great. For “casual” I think we need two buttons unbuttoned, at least. Regarding the sound, I think D-led thinks the sound isn’t on and he isn’t used to a mike that is really ramped up.

In the Miami game there was nobody at home with those two long td passes. The receivers just ran into the end zone. Nothing new, just poor defense, twice. I think Walls knows how to handle it. Smitty likes Owens potential as he is a hard hitter. Franks can streak but is he pass-defense quick?
Getting a really good vet CB under the cap would be a trick, I thought we did that with Dunta but am still waiting to see him defense a bunch of throws instead of tackles after the catch. But I do think Dunta will be better this year if his hammie heals. Looks to me like the both the safeties and CBs need to not only improve but get on the same page. We’re still looking pretty good tho.

It will be interesting to see how the falcan’t offensive line handles the jag defensive pass rush tonight, in particular the first quarter.

On the defensive side, with the jag running backs so banged up, I doubt that this will be a good game to gauge the weaknesses and susceptiblities the falcan’ts defense has to the run game.

The falcan’ts should win this game, of course, they should have won last week.

I, BWAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA….at this post. You should go and read what the Jags sports writers are saying about the Falcons. They will not have a problem at all with the Jags d-line. Stupid is as stupid does and Seen, you’ve been doing alot of stupid lately.
