Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes (20) of the NFC, right, celebrates with Arizona Cardinals strong safety Adrian Wilson (24) of the NFC after Grimes made an interception during the second quarter. AP
FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons may also be without Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes when they open practice on Friday.
Here’s the story on the practice status of the nine UFAs.
Grimes is a restricted free agent and did not sign the tender offer he received before the lockout as originally reported.
“He did not sign (his tender),” Super Agent Ben Dogra wrote in a text to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution this morning.”He can’t practice (before) the (Aug. 4th) unless he is signed or if (collective bargaining agreement) is ratified before then. RFA’s can show up since the lockout is lifted.”
Grimes was at the teams’ facilites on Tuesday.

Clam down robert… it was a simple question. How do you know whether i meant it negatively or was wondering if there was any other information behind his decision to change?
Thought so…..

ATL FAN – is that official about us resigning Nicholas to a 5 year deal? If so, I am estatic! His job was just given to Spoon. In my opinion Nicholas is a hell of a outside backer.

I personally hope the Falcons sign a top tier defensive end such as, Babin, Kiwanuka, Ellis, Thurman,Chinsea or Allen.
Some of the DL’s hopefully that are in the mix are, Bannan, Mebane, Bowens, Abanni, or Warren that Atlanta are considering.
First and foremost please get all of Atlanta’s free agent signed !! Release the non-productive players and get the producers signed.
Really hope Atlanta finds a way to get the unsigned college players on the roster. Vai Tau (rb), Jeff Miehl (wr), Dane Sanzenbacher (wr) Terrant(fs)and Ricardo Lockette (wr). Also the second tier for me would be.. Gilberry ( de) , Berry (rb), Etheridge (db), Bess(wr), Lefgard(s), Dixon (de), Tolliver (wr).

It has been reported that the reason Flair asked for the cash advance was because his credit card was declined after he had said that he was paying everyone’s bar tab after the show.
Woo, indeed.

Devine is not a thug. He did some things when he was a teenager that he is not proud of. You try raising yourself after being raised by two drug addicts that died when he was 12. The kid raised himself basically. Most of you come from stable homes, had direction growing up, etc. Once he arrived at WVU he stayed out of trouble, went to class and graduated with a college degree from a very fine institution. I wish him nothing but sucess.
By the way, he who is without sin cast the first stone…so everyone drop your stones and walk away.

You said Devine went “to a very fine institution”? I thought he went to WVU. I would like to see us get a fullback who can catch the pass. Anyone know of any good undrafted prospects at the position?
