BIRDLAND –  Falcons wide receiver Roddy White will be featured on this Sunday’s episode of “The Top 100: Players of 2011” at 8 p.m. on the NFL Network.

White finished ranked between 30-21 and will be presented by Falcons head coach Mike Smith.

Also, White will appear live in-studio on the show  and on NFL Total Access on Monday. White will be joined by Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew on each show.

White, who led the league with 115 catches last season, is the final of five Falcons on the list.

The other Falcons making the list were defensive end John Abraham (69), quarterback Matt Ryan (52), tight end Tony Gonzalez (46) and running back Michael Turner (42).

White, Detroit’s Calvin Johnson and Philadelphia’s DeSean Jackson will be the 14th, 15th and 16th wide receivers to be revealed on the show thus far. A total of 18 wide receiver made the list, the most represented position.

Nice …. would be great for him to repeat next year (if they have a season and have this show, unless it is labor strike filler for NFL Network)…

DOL, you get up early ………..
BTW, do you think the Falcons may be looking at any kids for the supplemental draft. esp. at positions of need?

Right now, only Terrell Pryor has made himself available, but could any other kids from Ohio State (there is a DE as one of the 5 suspended players), the recent UNC agent scandal or even the Univ. of Oregon DB Cliff Harris (recently indefinitely suspended from team) may make themselves eligible and may be a “person of interest” [in a good way] for the Falcons?

Thanks D.O. I guess you had to do it. I can’t resist exposing the remainder wide recievers on the list. If I do, does it mean I scooped you? OK do they work in Texas and Arizona? You can finish it. There are a number of QB’s left.

Just amazing!

Turner, Gonzalez are very good players at their respective positions but to place their value in 2011 above Matt Ryan is utterly ridiculous. Losing either Turner or Gonzalez for the upcoming season may cost the Falcons a game or two; losing Matt Ryan in 2011 and this is an 8-8 team at best with their below average defense led by perhaps the most unaccomplished Defensive Coordinator in the NFL who will long be remembered for one of the most lopsided defeats by a #1 seed at home in the playoffs in NFL history.

Just ask yourself this question…Whom among Ryan, Turner, Gonzalez, and even White, would you least like to go done with a season ending injury in the preseason? We lose White and we will struggle to make the playoffs; we lose Ryan and we don’t have a prayer!

swatguy – That’s fine. I believe you are correct on Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.

The Real Falcon — Roddy is the last of five.

Roddy has come a long way to become a great receiver in this league. Now he needs to take Julio under his wing so that he also can become as good or better in the future. Shout out to Joe Horn for showing Roddy the right way to perform as a professional on and off the field.

Imagine trying to cover White, Jones, Gonzalez, Douglas, Rodgers out of the backfield and having to worry about if Turner is going to break on you. My goodness.

Roddy was GREAT last season with basically no help on the other side and was often double teamed with a safety. Julio will roll the coverage away from Roddy on most plays. Not to mention Gonzalez going to be wide open, then you have speedy Harry Douglas in the slot. Turner being a threat to run the ball, and Rodgers being a threat to swing out of the backfield. A defense is going to be looking around. Trust me. Like where do I go?

I was hoping that the Falcons had someone in the Top 20. But since we don’t maybe this will make the Falcons feel like they were disrespected. After all this is the Top 100 of ONLY the 2011 season and the Falcons sent more Pro Bowlers than anyone else and only 5 guys, outside the Top 20, on here. I smell motivation…
