UPDATE, 4:39 P.M., Thursday
Two leaders of the Falcons’ seven-on-seven workouts told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution after Thursday’s workout that they have not been contacted by the Oakland Raiders about having a passing camp scrimmage and doubted that they would agree to such a scrimmage.
The Raiders are set to hold a passing camp next week in Duluth, less than 10 miles from where the Falcons are set to workout.
The Falcons expressed a concern about players getting injured in a competitive environment during the lockout.
ORIGINAL POST
About 40 members of the Oakland Raiders are set to hold their passing camp next Tuesday through Friday in Duluth.
Defensive end Richard Seymour, the former University of Georgia star, is hosting the camp that will be held at the Competitive Edge Sports complex.
Seymour will run the defense and quarterback Jason Campbell will lead the offense.
“Men, I hope that everyone is well and staying in shape because we are going to outwork everyone we face this season,” Seymour wrote in an e-mail to the Raiders. “It starts right now in the offseason.”
There has been some talk about an 11-on-11 passing scrimmage against the Falcons, who are practicing in a nearby suburb.

So let me get this straight. You feel like the Raiders heads over heels better than the Falcons
………………………………………………………………………………..
Pure Evil
which franchise would you rather have?
In 45 years of existence, Falcons are 298–402–6. Their first and ONLY SuperBowl appearance was SuperBowl XXXIII in 1999………………………………………………………………………………… n 50 years of existence the Raiders are 442-361-11. with 3 NFL Championship Titles
facts bro c’mon, waaay better franchise…… than the falcons atleast.

Good on Dr. Evil. That’s what kills me about other NFL team fans, they like coming to our board and expect us to put up with their SH**! They need to worry about their team not ours. They are all pieces of ****!

Dude the Raiders are close . Don’t understand the firing of Tom Cable but Hue Jackson seems ready . When you can run the ball with Bush & McFadden , Jason Campbell doesn’t have to do much though I bet I get my job back . I bet if there is a season this year we go to the playoffs . I bet even DHB evolves into a playmaker . Go Raiders !!!

Man…don’t ya’ll say that every year? The problem is not your players or coach, it’s the owner. Ya’ll need to demand him step down or sell the team. That would settle 99.9% of the problem.

AL doesn’t call down as many plays as he used to : ) Actually he just sits there now covered with his blanket . The last two drafts have been sound . I was not happy about the Tom Cable firing at all . Nice to see him in as assistant HC in Seattle . I really think Hue Jackson is ready . We have silly talent . We should have been 10-6 last year . Not Superbowl bound but close . The trade we made with the Patriots for Seymour looks GREAT . LOL !!! Al Davis handed it to Bill Bellichick . I bet we win the AFC west if there is a season .

Thanks for the history lesson. Do you remember what our Rookie quarterback did against your #1 pick last time we met? Honestly, I always liked the Raiders, but if you think the Raiders organization is anywhere near the top at this point, you are crazy my friend. Get a QB, new owner, find a way to keep Nnamdi, and then we’ll talk.

that was in 08, speaking of history. I never said the Raiders organization is anywhere near the top at this point, I said the Raider Franchise is better than the Falcons, the stats don’t lie. we have a QB, our owner is fine and Nnamdi will stay. you have a good team but can’t seem to do much in the playoffs. yall do good one season, then bomb the next seems to be pattern for yall. history repeats itself so the failcants are due a dud season in ‘11.

to all the raider fans- the failcans have the worst fans , as evidenced by the empty ga.dome against the packers . they will build their non-championship winning team up every year like it’s gonna be something that the nfl has never seen before then they choke- hence the name matt choke ryan or matty meltdown as i like to call him. when they can no longer debate the fact that you have several trophies to their none , they will result to name calling. i’d say the average age of a failcan fan is 12 . hang around and have fun cause they are an e-z target and a good warm up for the real teams once the season starts

I have to laugh at the trolls that come to the AJC and spew their caustic dung, flinging it all over everyone, including themselves. They swoop in with ignorant bliss, thinking they have the angle to get under the skin of the Falcon faithful. All the while fooling themselves into thinking that anything they say on this blog is of relevance to anyone, especially the true Fans of the systematic way the Atlanta Falcons organization has completely reinvented itself. As we have been close to the process and watched it unfold, we have become strong believers in the FO, the coaching, and the players.
We are experiencing, finally, what the Raiders fans have experienced in the past. Succesful seasons. Three in a row. For the first time in hour miserable existance. So no matter what you have to say, or how you say it, whatever piss poor paltry pathetic argument or totally trash talking tail shaking sham of a lie you dream up…we don’t care.
Our time is now.

The Raiders have been down lately, but they are a staple of the AFL ad NFL. They have their own theme song and poem (The autumn wind is a Raider). If you check with Steve Sabol and NFL Films or NFL merchandising, the Oakland Raiders are one of the most popular and followed teams in the NFL. They have numerous players in the Hall of Fame, have won the most Monday Night Football games (at one point they were 21-3 on Monday Night), have played in some of the most entertaining games (The Heidi Game, The Sea of Hands Game, The Ghost to the Post Game, The Holy Roller Game), have played in numerous AFL and AFC championship games (many legendary ones against the Pittsburg Steelers) and have won 3 Super Bowls. The Atlanta Falcons just recently had back-to back winning seasons after almost 50 yrs.!!!! Which team do you think the Falcons stole the idea to have black jerseys from? Anyway, the Falcons have a very good team and a very bright future (could play in a Super Bowl again in the next couple of years), but please do not get ahead of yourselves and believe that the Falcons are one of the traditional powers or one of the teams that has built the NFL to be the brand that it is now. The Oakland Raiders, Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Dolphins, Bears, are some of those teams. The Atlanta Falcons are not one of them. BTW- For any of the Saints fans that love to jump on here and bash the Falcons, just because you have won a Super Bowl, does not mean that you are a traditional power, so stop raging on the Dirty Bird fans.

An unbiased analysis of both the falcan’ts and raiders player roster today, would show that both these teams are likely to end up with the same 8-8 record next year. They are both going to be also rans, and they know it, and that’s why they’re both talking smack about how successful their player organized work outs are being. What a joke.

@hiramsaint.
You complain that Falcons fans can’t debate and just call names. Yet your two responses show just what Aints fans are about. Hahaha. What a joke.
Good call on the govt though. I actually have put in many years of service in the federal govt so that upstanding citizens like yourself can live your life and troll other teams blogs.

Sorry Himey not truth. I’m refuring to “himey” from Eddie Murphy singing Himey town on SNL, poking fun at Jessie Jackson. As far as aints RB’s goes, everyone knows they are irrelevant on sunday. Remember your last 1st round RB, you know the one everyone praised coming out of college, the one your team most likely will let go. I just hope we have football so we can see all this unfold. The NFC south will be fun to watch this year. Well, minus the Panthers.

Hiramsaint,
You reaching my level as you call it, OK. So the swelling of a river isn’t weather related at all. Gosh, need your brain in the science field for sure. The reference about the govt. not helping is from an earlier post on this blog about the govt. not helping from one of your LSU fans. We realize other states are affected as well.
As for your name calling. People that really have no point of view usually resort to such tactics so no worries, it doesn’t bother me a bit, and I doubt EM is bothered as well. Looking at your logic and understanding of things, it is obvious why you see the need to be childish.
I am not sure about your regime reference. I am guessing you mean the U.S. Govt. It appears that both political parties have helped out LA. in the last four or five years quite a bit, so I am not sure, if all of the Govt. displeases you, or for that fact, if you have even bothered to vote at all. Yes, I guess I did work for the Govt. as I was a career military person, so at least you got that right.
